Dallastown used a strong defensive effort to beat Spring Grove 46-30 on Tuesday night in a York-Adams Division I girls' basketball showdown.

The Wildcats, 13-6 overall, moved into first-place tie in the division at 8-2 with Central York. Spring Grove fell to 13-5 and 8-3.

Julia Sutton and Lily Jamison each had 10 points to lead a balanced Dallastown attack. Brooklyn Naylor's nine points led Spring Grove.

Dallastown did not allow more than nine points in any single quarter. The Wildcats outscored the Rockets 26-12 in the second half to break the game open.

BASKETBALL

Central York 42, South Western 32: At Central, the Panthers moved into a first-place tie with Dallastown in York-Adams Division I with the win. Central improved to 14-4 overall and 8-2 in the division. South Western fell to 10-8 and 4-6. Nikson Valencik and Allison Wagner each scored 12 points for Central, while Sarah Sepic added 11. Taylor Geiman scored 10 points for South Western.

West York 54, Eastern York 32: At West York, the Bulldogs outscored the Golden Knights 29-15 in the second half to take command. Makennah Hoffman led the Bulldogs with a game-high 13 points. Alyssa Zorbaugh knocked in 12 points for West York, while Alayna Harris scored 11 points. 

Kennard-Dale 34, York Suburban 27: At Fawn Grove, Megan Halczuk's 13 points led K-D. Ali Reinecker had 17 for Suburban. K-D improved to 12-6 overall and 7-4 in York-Adams Division II. Suburban fell to 12-8 and 6-6.

Susquehannock 61, Gettysburg 43: At Gettysburg, Jaden Walker pumped in 24 points and Jayla Galbreath added 15 to lead Susquehannock. Taylor Tannura added 10 for the York County Warriors, who improved to 15-2 overall. Susquehannock leads York-Adams Division II at 10-2.

Dover 66, Northeastern 44: At Manchester, Rajah Fink poured in 32 points to power Dover. Baylen Snyder added 15 for Dover, while Gabrielle Coley chipped in 11. Jordyn Jennings' 12 points paced Northeastern. Dover improved to 10-8 overall and 8-4 in York-Adams Division II.

York Catholic 66, Biglerville 32: At Biglerville, Grace Reed's 12 points paced York Catholic, which improved to 9-10 overall and 9-1 in York-Adams Division III.

New Oxford 54, Red Lion 45: At Red Lion, Kayla Johnson poured in 24 points in a losing cause.
