GIRLS' BASKETBALL: First-place Susquehannock gets key victory over West York


Susquehannock captured a key York-Adams Division II girls' basketball triumph at West York on Tuesday night, Jan. 23, 38-34.

Jayla Galbreath paced the Warriors with 19 points, while Jaden Walker added 12. 


Makennah Hoffman paced West York with 14 points.

First-place Susquehannock improved to 13-2 overall and 8-2 in D-II. West York fell to 8-8 and 4-6.



Eastern York 46, York Suburban 43: At Suburban, Cassidy Arnold (16) and Hannah Myers (14) combined for 30 of Eastern's points. Ali Reinecker led Suburban with 11, while Katherine Mooney added 10. Suburban fell to 11-5 overall and 6-3 in York-Adams Division II. Eastern improved to 8-8 and 5-5.

Dallastown 62, York 17: At Dallastown, Aniya Matthews had 13 points for the winners, while Julia Sutton chipped in 10. The Wildcats improved to 11-5 overall and 6-2 in York-Adams Division I.

York Catholic 66, Bermudian Springs 41: At York Springs, the Irish improved to 7-1 in York-Adams Division III action. Katy Rader (14 points) and Jania Wright (12 points) led the York Catholic offense.

Kennard-Dale 55, Northeastern 44: At Manchester, Chandler Swanson scored 17 points and Lexie Kopko added 15 to spark K-D, which improved to 8-6 overall and 5-4 in York-Adams Division II.

Spring Grove 37, New Oxford 33: At Spring Grove, the Rockets overcame a 19-13 halftime deficit. Brooklyn Naylor's eight points led Spring Grove. Dealyn Stabler's 13 points led New Oxford. Spring Grove improved to 12-3 overall and 7-2 in York-Adams Division I. The Rockets now lead the division by a half game over Central York. 

Red Lion Christian 63, Arlington Baptist 22: At Red Lion Christian, Hailee Thompson led the Swordsmen by scoring 16 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Also for RLC, Allie Damiano scored 12 points, while Destiny Hollingshead scored 11s. RLC led 21-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Christian School of York 65, West Shore Christian 23: At West Shore Christian, Kendis Butler poured in 24 points, while Claire Harbaugh added 20 and Mekenzie Smith chipped in 11 to lead CSY, which improved to 12-2.
