Christian School of York girls to play for CCAC crown


The Christian School of York girls' basketball team will play for a championship.

The Crusaders advanced to the Commonwealth Christian Athletic Conference title game with a 63-17 pounding of Dayspring Christian at Lancaster County Christian on Thursday evening.

CSY will now face Harrisburg Christian at 5 p.m. Saturday at Lancaster Mennonite High School in the championship contest.

Kendis Butler (18 points, three steals, two assists), Kathryn Larson (16 points, three assists, two steals), Bailey Stauffer (15 points, five rebounds, four assists) and Hannah Martin (11 points, four steals, three assists) led the Crusaders.

CSY trailed 9-8 after one quarter, but outscored Dayspring 13-4 in the second quarter and used a 42-4 second-half surge to put the game out of reach.

The Crusaders improved to 18-4.

Red Lion Christian loses pair: The Red Lion Christian basketball teams suffered a pair of losses at Harford Christian on Thursday.

The girls' team lost, 58-20, while the boys' team fell 66-33. Allie Damiano had eight points for the RLC girls. Dillon Morris had nine points for the RLC boys.
