After big win vs. Delone, York Catholic now ranked among state's best football teams

  • The York Catholic football team is now ranked No. 5 in the state in Class 2-A.
  • York High remained ranked No. 5 in the state in the Class 5-A rankings.
  • Delone Catholic, after a 35-7 loss to York Catholic, was dropped out of the 2-A rankings.

There are still two York-Adams League schools ranked in the latest Trib HSSN state football rankings.

They are not the same two teams that were ranked just a week ago.

York Catholic (9-0), after a 35-7 triumph over Delone Catholic last Friday in a battle of Division III unbeatens, moved to No. 5 in Class 2-A. Delone (8-1), which had been ranked No. 4 in 2-A, was dropped out of the rankings.

In addition, York High (8-1) remained No. 5 in Class 5-A.

Here is the PIAA Top Five in each of the six classifications. Their ranking from last week is the number in parenthesis after their record.
