►Team: Bermudian Springs.
►Coach: Jon DeFoe, 19th season.
►2017 Record: 7-4 overall, 5-2 in Division III.
►Key returners: Chase Dull, QB/LB; Chase Wood, WR/CB; Kolt Byers, WR/DB; Carter King, C/DL; Nate McCollum, OL/DL.
►2018 schedule: Aug. 24, New Oxford; Aug. 31, Boiling Springs; Sept. 7, at Shippensburg; Sept. 14, at Hanover; Sept. 21, Fairfield; Sept. 28, at York Catholic; Oct. 5, Delone Catholic; Oct. 13, at York Tech; Oct. 19, Littlestown; Oct. 26, at Biglerville.
►Outlook: The Eagles perennially are near the top of the division standings and this year doesn't figure to be any different. With Chase Dull, a four-year starter, back at quarterback, Bermudian is hoping to continue playing well into November.
►Quotable: "We've finished second in the division the past few years and that is not where we want to be." — DeFoe.

►Team: Biglerville.
►Coach: Alex Ramos, seventh season.
►2017 Record: 1-9 overall, 1-6 in Division III.
►Key returners: Kalen Sharrah, RB/LB; Sam Hurda, RB/LB; Derek Tosten, QB/WR/DB; Cage Alhoff, QB/DB; Aaron Stremmel, RB/QB/DB.
►2018 schedule: Aug. 24, Big Spring; Aug. 31, Steel-High; Sept. 7, at Kennard-Dale; Sept. 14, at Fairfield; Sept. 21, York Catholic; Sept. 28, at Delone Catholic; Oct. 5, York Tech; Oct. 12, at Littlestown; Oct. 19, at Hanover; Oct. 26, Bermudian Springs.
►Outlook: The Canners could be the sleeper team in D-III this year. After taking some lumps the previous two seasons — 0-10 in 2016 and 1-9 in 2017 — Biglerville is hungry to make some noise.
►Quotable: "We're still going to be young because we had four freshmen and four sophomores play key minutes for us last year. But we did feel like we really gained some experience from that and that should help us out." — Ramos.

►Team: Delone Catholic.
►Coach: Corey Zortman, third season.
►2017 Record: 8-2 overall, 5-2 in Division III.

►Outlook: The Squires missed out on the District 3 2-A playoffs by the slimmest of margins a season ago. The disappointment of watching rival York Catholic, a team Delone defeated in the regular season, play for a District 3 title only added fuel to the fire.
►Quotable: "We return some of our key guys on both sides of the ball. We did lose a couple of key players in Ryan Hart and Zach Schussler, but I feel like we have talented athletes that can step in." — Zortman.

AD says Fairfield will have varsity football

►Team: Fairfield.
►Coach: Jason Thurston, first season.
►2017 Record: 4-7 overall, 2-5 in Division III.

►Outlook: The best word to describe the feelings for the Green Knights this season is thankfulness. After nearly having their season wiped out by a player shortage, even a handful of victories would be icing on top of their cake this year.
►Quotable: "We are very excited that the decision to field either a varsity or JV squad is behind us. Now we can just focus on football." — Thurston.

►Team: Hanover.
►Coach: Brandon Bishop, first season.
►2017 Record: 5-5 overall, 3-4 in Division III.

►Outlook: After losing one of the league's best all-around backs in Justin Barnes, the Nighthawks will look for Jacoby and others to step up and help the team make some big plays this season.
►Quotable: "The transition has been pretty smooth because I've been here at Hanover for the past eight years, the last five of which have been with the varsity. And fortunately we were able to carry over most of the coaching staff from last year and previous years." — Bishop.

►Team: Littlestown.
►Coach: Mike Lippy, 15th season.
►2017 Record: 9-2 overall, 6-1 in Division III (division co-champ).

►Outlook: The Thunderbolts were less than two minutes away from pulling off a thrilling upset in the District 3 3-A semifinals a season ago against Wyomissing. Like Bermudian Springs and Delone, Littlestown is hoping to build on another successful season, with the goal of playing for a district title this year.
►Quotable: "I feel real positive heading into the season. The one area that I think we need to work on is with our conditioning." — Lippy.
