The district cancelled and forfeited the non-conference game Friday, Sept. 15, after rumors circulated online about possible fighting at the game in Chambersburg, according to statement from the district.

“There have been several rumours about possible fighting at CASHS and the football game tonight,” the statement reads. “Although this is largely driven by social media posts, we take these threats very seriously. We have taken the appropriate measures and will continue to monitor the situation very closely.”

Pennsylvania State Police, Chambersburg Police and Chambersburg school district officers are at the high school to ensure students’ safety, according to the statement.
