►Outlook: Bermudian is among the most consistent teams in Division III. No matter how many players the Eagles graduate, or how inexperienced they might be, they're always in contention for a division title.
This year shouldn't be any different, despite the fact that Berm graduated six all-stars from a 2016 side that finished second to York Catholic in the division. Head coach Jon DeFoe was modest in his outlook for his team after it graduated 18 players, but he still has some strong pieces returning. Chase Dull is entering his junior year, but it'll be his third season as the team's starting quarterback. You don't get that type of experience out of a junior QB often. He'll be joined in the backfield by the running back duo of Ryan Curfman and all-star Darren Beall, creating a strong three-man attack.
This should be a more wide-open race for the division title than in past years, with several top teams from a year ago losing valuable players, while some of the down teams are more experienced. It should create a more competitive and fun season. The Eagles will certainly be in the mix, as usual.
►Coach speak: "I think everybody has their challenges and question marks coming into the season and we're no different. We feel like we have some good skilled kids that can make plays. The question for us is what can we put in front of them on the offensive line, and on the other side of the ball on the defensive line is where we're thin." — Jon DeFoe
