A big crowd is expected Friday night when rivals Red Lion and Dallastown collide on the football field in a highly-anticipated contest.
As a result, both schools will hold advance ticket sales in order to avoid long lines at the ticket booth on Friday night. Game time is 7 p.m. Friday at Red Lion's Horn Field.
The game is pivotal for both teams.
Red Lion enters the game at 9-0 and has already clinched the York-Adams Division I championship, its first title since 2003.
Dallastown, meanwhile, comes in at 7-2 and is fighting for a berth in the upcoming District 3 Class 6-A playoffs. The Wildcats are rated sixth in the latest district power ratings and only the top eight teams will make the field.
With a win, Red Lion will complete an undefeated regular season and may be able to improve on its No. 4 spot in the district 6-A ratings. Dallastown, meanwhile, may need a win to sew up a district berth.
Ticket prices for the game are $5 for adults and $3 for students and senior citizens. Current and former, military personnel are admitted free for the special “Football for Freedom” game.
