Final winners in York Dispatch Pigskin Pickers online contest revealed


With the end of the high school football regular season, another York Dispatch Pigskin Pickers online contest has also come to a conclusion.

Red Lion's Wayne Miller and York's Troy Showers tied for first place at 110-27, good for an 80.3 percent success rate.

Under the contest rules, ties are broken by random computer selection. Miller was picked as the overall winner and will receive a $100 gift card to Rutter's. Showers took second and will get a $50 gift card to Rutter's.

Third place went to Spring Grove's Craig Day, who went 109-28. He'll receive a $25 Rutter's gift card.

All of those gentleman finished ahead of the York Dispatch Pigskin Pickers.

Among the Dispatch folks, sports correspondent Ryan Vandersloot and sports reporter Patrick Strohecker tied for first at 106-31 (77.4 percent). They were followed by sports editor Steve Heiser and sports reporter/sports copy editor Elijah Armold at 105-32. Sports assistant David VanO'Linda was 102-35.
