Previously unbeaten District 3 football team forced to forfeit two victories
Northern Lebanon High School has formally informed the District 3 Committee that the school inadvertently used an ineligible player during its first two football games of the 2015-2016 season.
As a result, Northern Lebanon is required to forfeit those contests to Pine Grove High School of District 11 and Lebanon High School of District 3.
The District 3 Football Power Ratings have been adjusted to change Northern Lebanon's previous victories over Pine Grove and Lebanon to losses. All other necessary adjustments to opponents of Northern Lebanon have also been made. The altered power ratings are available on the District 3 website.
District 3 executive secretary C. Wendell Hower said that Northern Lebanon self-reported the violation and thanked Northern Lebanon for its appropriate handling of the matter. Hower said there is no need for any further penalties or action against Northern Lebanon.
Before the forfeits, Northern Lebanon had been 7-0. The forfeits dropped the team's record to 5-2. Northern Lebanon dropped to No. 19 in the District 3-AAA power ratings. Only the top 16 teams will make the district playoffs at the end of the regular season. There are three weeks left in the regular season.
