Seven York-Adams League teams earn District 3 field hockey berths

Seven York-Adams League field hockey teams are headed to the District 3 playoffs.

All seven will have first-round matches on Wednesday, Oct. 23.

Two of those teams will face off against each other when No. 6 seed Eastern York (14-3) meets No. 11 seed Littlestown (13-5) at 5 p.m. at Dover High School in a Class 1-A first-round contest.

Bermudian Springs (16-2) also made the 1-A field as the No. 4 seed and will take on No. 13 seed Camp Hill (10-8) at 7 p.m., also at Dover.

Three Y-A teams also made the 2-A district field. No. 4 South Western (16-2) meets No. 13 Shippensburg (9-5-3) at 7 p.m. at Bermudian Springs; No. 10 New Oxford (11-7) takes on No. 7 Berks Catholic (14-3) at 7 p,.m. at Exeter Township; and No. 11 Susquehannock (10-7) battles No. 6 Manheim Central (13-4-1) at 6 p.m. at Hempfield.

Only one Y-A team made the 3-A district field. No. 11 Central York (11-7) faces No. 6 Cedar Cliff (14-3-1) at 7 p.m. at Mechanicsburg's Memorial Park.

The top three seeds in the field are Lower Dauphin (15-0-2) in 3-A, Palmyra (15-3) in 2-A and Greenwood (14-1-2) in 1-A.

All records were provided by District 3 and don't include league playoff contests.
