The Central York field hockey team earned another statement victory on Wednesday, Oct. 11.
The Panthers, who recently clinched the York-Adams Division I championship, cruised to a 4-0 victory over Division II champion Susquehannock in Glen Rock.
Central finished 10-1-1 in Division I and improved to 12-5-1 overall. The Panthers sit at No. 11 in the latest District 3 Class 3-A power ratings. Only the top 10 teams will make the district 3-A field.
No matter their district future, the Panthers are guaranteed the top seed for the upcoming York-Adams League playoffs, which start with quarterfinal action on Saturday, Oct. 14. The semifinals are Tuesday, Oct. 17, with the title game on Thursday, Oct. 19.
In the win over the Warriors, Bree Craley had two goals and an assist for Central, Kyra Heap and Rachel Leiphart also scored. Mikayla Sommer added two assists.
Susquehannock won the JV match, 1-0.
Red Lion 6, Dover 0: At Dover, Kennedy Bratton recorded a hat trick and Hayley Taylor added a pair of goals as the Lions cruised to victory. Samantha Collis also scored for Red Lion.
Kennard-Dale 1, Biglerville 0: At Fawn Grove, Riley Chandler's first-half goal, off an assist from Emma Lucas, was the only score. Lauren Lisek registered five saves to get the win in goal.
Hanover 4, York Suburban 1: At Suburban, Emma Martin led the Hawkettes to the road victory by scoring two goals. For the Trojans, Serena Andricos scored the lone first-half goal. Suburban won the JV match 4-0.
Eastern York 8, Fairfield 1: At Wrightsville, in a match from Wednesday, the Golden Knights were led by Kelsey Felix (four assists), Cassidy Arnold (two goals, two assists) and Addison Malone (two goals). Morgan Arnold, Lily Campbell, Abby Rhine and Emma Hoak also scored goals for Eastern. Eastern and York Country Day battled to a 0-0 JV tie.
