In a showdown between the top two teams in York-Adams League Division I field hockey, the difference between Central York and Red Lion is apparently minuscule.
On Wednesday, Oct. 4, there wasn't any separation at all.
The Panthers and Lions played to a 1-1 tie at Red Lion, with the draw serving as the first blemish of any kind to Central York's division record. The Panthers are now 9-0-1 in Division I play, while Red Lion sits at 6-2-2.
Both goals came in the opening half of play, with Central opening the game's scoring. Bree Craley netted the first goal of the game, with Shae Strange assisting on it to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.
The Lions, however, responded, with Kaiya Edwards tying the game 15 minutes later, with Jordan Sleeth adding the assist.
