FIELD HOCKEY: Tia Judy shines for Eastern York

  • Tia Judy had a hat trick and two assists to lead Eastern York.

Tia Judy had a hat trick and two assists to lead Eastern York to a 9-1 field hockey triumph over York Suburban on Wednesday afternoon in Wrightsville.

Also for Eastern, Addison Malone scored two goals, Morgan Buckwalter scored one goal and added two assists and Holly Caldwell, Gillian Toomey and Olivia Fisher each scored one goal.

For the Trojans, Abbey Probert scored the lone goal.


The JV match ended in a 1-1 tie.



West York 1, Dover 0: At West York, Paige Weekly found the back of the net in the first half and that ended up being the game-winning goal. West York won the JV match, 2-0.

Susquehannock 6, Northeastern 0: At Manchester, Brooke Morris led the Warriors with two goals and two assists. Also for the winners, Maddie Tomasic and Lauren Wojcik each scored two goals, while Christine Sullivan added one assist. The Warriors held the Bobcats to two shots on goal.

Central York 2, Spring Grove 0: At Spring Grove, the visiting Panthers scored once in each half to down the Rockets. Abby Lamison scored in the first half for Central and then Makayla Sommer added the insurance marker in the second half. Spring Grove goalie Camille Lecrone made 10 saves. The Panthers won the JV game, 4-0.

New Oxford 2, Red Lion 1: At New Oxford, Breanne Sauter broke a 1-1 tie when she found the back of the net with five seconds remaining in the second half to clinch the match for the Colonials. Teammate Kaelyn Long added two assists. For the Lions, Samantha Collis scored a first-half goal with Gill Orwig adding the assist. Red Lion won the JV match, 1-0.

Bermudian Springs 2, Kennard-Dale 1: At York Springs, Lexi Lauchbaum’s goal with 3:06 left to play gave the Eagles the victory. Olivia Blasone assisted on both Bermudian goals. Marai Schneider scored for Kennard-Dale.

Littlestown 1, Gettysburg 1: At Gettysburg, Elena Montenegro scored the first goal of the match for the Warriors to give them a 1-0. The Thunderbolts struck back in the second half when Cailey Sentz found the back of the net to tie the game for good. Littlestown won the JV match, 3-1.

Biglerville 3, Delone Catholic 0: At McSherrystown, the Canners led 2-0 at the half and went on to capture the victory. Delone Catholic won the JV match, 3-0.

Hanover 6, Fairfield 1: At Fairfield, Avery Martz led the Hawkettes by recording a hat trick.
