FIELD HOCKEY: Red Lion rolls over Susquehannock

  • Gill Orwig had two goals to lead Red Lion.

Gill Orwig scored two goals to lead Red Lion to an impressive 4-0 triumph over visiting Susquehannock in field hockey action on Tuesday.

Also for the Lions, Amy Maciejewski added two assists, while Sam Collis and Kynslee Sheperd each scored one goal apiece. Jackie Golden and Emily Gillman each added one assist.

For the Warriors, Emma DeLuca made 16 stops in goal.

Red Lion won the JV match 4-2.



Dallastown 6, West York 0: At Dallastown, Kiele Fullerton and Molly Lohss each scored two goals for the Wildcats, while Nicole Crumling added four assists. Jen Crumling and Sarah Baker also scored goals. Caroline Dell, Katie Doherty and Kaylee Frey added assists. Dallastown outshot West York, 21-0. Dallastown won the JV match, 7-0.

Kennard-Dale 3, Littlestown 1: At Fawn Grove, the home team won behind a goal and an assist from Emmie Dressel. Morgan Bowings and Jenna Soukaseam also scored for the winners, while Calie Swegon added an assist. Lauren Lisek had 10 saves in goal for K-D. Littlestown won the JV match, 3-0.

York Suburban 4, Fairfield 0: At Suburban, the Trojans received one goal apiece from Rachel Peters, Katelyn Fissel, Cayenne Kepner and Danielle Oberdick. Abbey Probert picked up two assists. The Suburban defense held the Green Knights to two shots on goal.

Eastern York 4, Biglerville 2: At Wrightsville, Cassidy Arnold scored two goals to lead the Golden Knights. Also for Eastern, Tia Judy and Addison Malone each scored one goal. Eastern won the JV match, 1-0.

Spring Grove 6, Northeastern 0: At Spring Grove, Bailey Sherman had three goals and an assist to lead the Rockets. Lauren Guise added two goals and an assist, while Kiersten Snyder had a goal and two assists.

Central York 6, South Western 0: At Central York, the Panthers led 2-0 at the half and went on to capture the Division I victory. The Panthers defense held the Mustangs to just two shots on goal.

New Oxford 11, Dover 0: At New Oxford, Carly Flickinger led the Colonials by recording a hat trick. New Oxford outshot the Eagles, 35-0. New Oxford won the JV match, 10-0.

Gettysburg 10, Delone Catholic 1: At Gettysburg, Kailey Maxell led the Warriors by scoring four goals. Gettysburg out shot the visitors, 27-1. Gettysburg won the JV match, 4-2.

Bermudian Springs 6, Hanover 2: At York Springs, Nikki Wolf (two goals, assist), Olivia Blasone (goal, three assists), Brooke Zehr (two goals) and Ashley Kunkle (goal, assist) paced the Eagles.
