Dallastown junior standout Emily Schuler bested a field of 162 Class 3-A runners on Saturday to win the 23rd annual Ben Bloser Bulldog Cross Country Invitational at Big Spring High School.

Schuler finished in 18 minutes, 51.87 seconds.

She helped the Wildcats to a second-place team finish behind only Carlisle.

Schuler is coming off standout sophomore season when she finished second in the District 3 Class 3-A individual run and in the York-Adams League Run.

Other Dallastown girls in the top 25 were Lydia Tolerico in 14th (20:01.54), Allison Myers in 18th (20:20.57) and Carly Gable in 23rd (21:01.07).

Also in 3-A girls, Red Lion's Kiersten Lloyd was sixth in 19:30.69, Dover's Hannah Hogan was 10th in 19:48.09 and Northeastern's Bella Treglia was 17th in 20:15.20.

Red Lion was fifth as a team.

In 3-A boys' action, Northeastern's James Herman was 19th in 17:17.15 and Dallastown's Rory McCleary was 20th in 17:17.38.

McLain third in 2-A girls' race: In 2-A girls' action, Eastern's Olivia McLain was third individually in 19:50.36. 

Other local top-25 2-A finishers were: Susquehannock's Connor Coggins, 10th in 21:22.51; Susquehannock's Desiree Toms-Witmer, 17th in 21:49.47; and Kennard-Dale's Delaney Barts, 18th in 21:55.95. Susquehannock was seventh as a team, while K-D was eighth.

In 2-A boys' action, Kennard-Dale's Collin Wolf was 10th in 17:19.39 and Susquehannock's Sam Pugliese was 16th in 17:45.93.

Irish boys, girls each second 1-A: In Class 1-A boys' action, York Catholic finished second as a team behind first-place Fairfield.

York Catholic's top runners were: Joseph Rizzuto, sixth in 17:57.10; Christian Gervasi, seventh in 17:59.82; Ryan Corbitt, 12th in 18:51.91; and Joseph Zelis, 23rd in 19:39.01.

Christian School of York's Eric Shelton was fifth in 1-A in 17:52.93.

The York Catholic girls also finished second as a team in 1-A behind Camp Hill.

For the Irish, Megan Hale was sixth in 22:27.43, Gabbie Tully was eighth in 22:36.35 and Aleya Miller was 13th in 23:04.24.
