York Suburban High School and cross country success have become synonymous terms over recent decades.

The 2018 season doesn't look like it will be any different.

The Suburban boys' team cruised to the Class 2-A team title at the 23rd annual Ben Bloser Cross Country Invitational at Big Spring High School on Saturday.

The Trojans piled up 53 points, while the second-place team was 31 behind at 84 points.

Freshman Cole Adams led the Suburban boys with a third-place individual finish in Class 2-A at 17 minutes, 1.976 seconds. Senior Jarrett Raudensky was fifth at 17:03.427.

Suburban's other scoring runners were junior Jordan Ohl in 12th at 17:24.500, senior Cam Shaffer in 15th at 17:41.147 and freshman Shea Walsh in 18th at 17:48.916.

Adams' Suburban career is off to a fast start. He was coming off a first-place finish in a league meet at Suburban on Tuesday, helping the Trojans sweep past Dallastown, Eastern York and South Western.

Suburban girls also shine: The Suburban girls' team just missed on winning the Bloser 2-A team title, finishing second, just two points behind Donegal.

Junior Courtney Ohl paced the Suburban girls with a fourth-place finish in 20:44.537. The Trojans' other top female runners were: senior Emma Trout in 21st at 22:07.892, freshman Ella Smith in 24th in 22:21.119; freshman Sarah Stark in 29th in 22:37.534 and freshman Anissa Lytle in 33rd in 22:48.687.

For the season, the Suburban boys are 7-0 overall and 3-0 in York-Adams Division II. The Trojan girls are 6-1 overall and 3-0 in D-II.

The Suburban boys have won six straight D-II crowns, going 34-0 in division matches over that stretch.

The Suburban girls, meanwhile, have won 17 straight Y-A division titles, including 13 D-II titles, two East titles and two D-I titles. The Trojans have gone 98-0 in division contests during that period.

The Trojan boys have finished second in the state in 2-A in each of the last three years. They won the state 2-A crown in 2014.
