CROSS COUNTRY: York Suburban teams shine, while Eastern York's Maddie McLain sets record

  • Both York Suburban cross country teams went 4-0 Tuesday at Codorus State Park.

York Suburban excelled as team and Eastern York's Maddie McLain broke her own course record in York-Adams League cross country action at Codorus State Park on Tuesday, Sept. 26.

York Suburban's Jarrett Raudensky won the boys' cross country race at Codorus State Park on Tuesday, Sept. 26.

Both Suburban teams went 4-0 on the day. The Suburban boys were led by Jarrett Raudensky, who won in a time of 17 minutes, 15 seconds. Central York's Timmy Buzynski was second, followed by Suburban's Bryce Ohl, Central's Jacob Montgomery and Suburban's Josh Kerr.

Central took second in the boys' team competition, followed by Northeastern, host Delone Catholic and Eastern York.

In the girls' meet, McLain finished in a record-breaking 19:35. She was followed by Delone's Leanne Sneeringer, Central's Kendall Smith, Northeastern's Margaret Carroll and Northeastern's Maddie Warrender.

Central took second as a team in the girls' race, followed by Delone, Northeastern and Eastern.



Gable powers Wildcats: At Glen Rock, Bryce Gable took first in 17:54 to lead the Wildcats over Susquehannock, New Oxford, Bermudian Springs and York Tech. The Colonials came in second. Austin Plotica lead the Colonials with a fourth-place finish. The Warriors came in third. Erik Younkin lead the Warriors with a second-place finish, while teammate Sam Pugliese came in third. The Eagles came in fourth, followed by Tech (27-29). For the Spartans, Sean Smith took fifth.



Schuler leads Wildcats to victories: At Glen Rock, Emily Schuler took first in 20:26 to lead the Wildcats over Bermudian Springs, New Oxford, Susquehannock and York Tech. Also for the Warriors, Allison Myers took second, Lydian Fimmano took third and Helen Zardus took fourth. New Oxford came in second, while Bermudian came in third. Neither the Spartans nor the Warriors had enough runners to register a team score. Individually for the Spartans, Julia Atkins took fifth.

MacDougal paces Irish: At Gettysburg, Katie MacDougal took first in 20:55 to lead the Irish over Gettysburg, Kennard-Dale and South Western (25-31). Also for the Irish, Rachel Kardaz took fourth, while Gabby Debolt took fifth. The Mustangs came in second. Individually for the Mustangs, Alyssa Bentzell took second, while Sarah Forry came in third. The Warriors took third place by defeating K-D.
