CROSS COUNTRY: Kennard-Dale's Ferner sets record on her home course


Maddie Ferner set a new Kennard-Dale course record on Tuesday afternoon in Fawn Grove.

The Rams' standout finished in a time of 19 minutes, 52 seconds on her home course. She shattered the old course record of 20:28 set by Kady Schrann in 2009.

In the girls' team competition, Central captured first, followed by the Rams, Dover, Bermudian Springs and Biglerville.

In the boys' meet at Fawn Grove, Central took first, followed by Dover, K-D, Bermudian and Biglerville. Chad Long led the Eagles by taking first in 18:01.


Mustangs capture first: At Spring Grove, South Western captured first in the team competition by defeating Spring Grove, Littlestown, Delone Catholic and Susquehannock. The Squirettes came in second. Leanne Sneeringer led the Squirettes by taking first in 21:18. The Warriors came in third, while the Thunderbolts took fourth and Spring Grove was fifth.

Lions shine: At Red Lion, the Lions took first by defeating West York, Northeastern, York Tech and Gettysburg. The Warriors came in second, followed by Northeastern, West York and Tech. Bethany Weaver led the Bulldogs by taking first in 22:02.

McLain leads Golden Knights: At Wrightsville, Maddie McLain's first-place finish in 20:37 led Eastern York to victories over Fairfield and New Oxford. The Colonials came in second by defeating Fairfield.


Warriors lead way: At Spring Grove, Susquehannock captured first in the team competition by defeating Spring Grove, Delone Catholic, Littlestown and South Western. The Mustangs came in second, followed by Spring Grove, Littlestown and Delone. Will Greene led the Squires with a first-place finish in 17:18.

Lions excel: At Red Lion, the host Lions captured first by defeating Gettysburg, West York, Northeastern and York Tech. Gettysburg came in second. Daniel Filler led the Warriors by taking first in 17:58. Northeastern came in third, followed by West York and Tech.

Forbes paces Colonials: At Wrightsville, Devin Forbes took first in 18:58 to lead New Oxford over Eastern and Fairfield. The Golden Knights came in second by defeating Fairfield.
