BOYS' VOLLEYBALL: Suburban captures win vs. Red Lion
York Suburban took down visiting Dallastown 25-21, 25-20, 28-30, 25-20 on Tuesday night in a battle of two of the better boys' volleyball teams in the York-Adams League.
The Trojans improved to 9-2 overall and 7-2 in the league. The Lions fell to 9-4 and 6-3.
Sepehr Vakili (16 kills, nine digs), Jack Schultz (11 kills), Kaleb Ansell (48 assists, 18 digs), Zach Weinstein (15 digs, seven kills), Nick Bowman (23 digs) and Josh Upadhyay (12 digs) paced the winners.
Dallastown's stat leaders were Aaron Ward (32 kills), Peyton Ranck (52 assists) and Nathan Darr (10 kills).
Suburban won the JV match, 25-20, 25-22.
Central York 3, Spring Grove 0: At Central, Hayden Wagner led the Panthers to a 26-16, 25-8, 25-5 victory with 13 kills. Also for Central, Carter Luckenbaugh had 29 assists, Cole Johnson had seven kills and Darin Richard and Spencer Tate each had four kills. For the Rockets, Luke Hoffnagle had five kills and seven digs, Aaron Miller had eight assists and Dakota Parker had three kills. Central improved to 8-1 overall and 7-1 in the York-Adams League. Central won the JV match, 25-12, 25-6.
Red Lion 3, West York 0: At West York, the Lions rolled, 25-9, 25-10, 25-13. Red Lion’s Dillon Hilderbrand had eight kills and three aces, while Cole Brillhart had five aces and John Longnecker had 18 assists. Justin Myers led West York with four kills and Jacob May had four assists. Red Lion improved to 10-3 overall and 7-2 in the York-Adams League.
Susquehannock 3, New Oxford 0: At New Oxford, the Warriors cruised, 25-22, 25-17, 25-16. Quinlan Kauffman had 16 kills and 13 digs for Susquehannock, while Steve Rouse had 32 assists and 13 digs. Kurt Eckenrode also came up with 16 digs for the Warriors.
Kennard-Dale 3, Dover 0: At Dover, the Rams dispatched the Eagles, 25-17, 25-17, 25-7. Kyle Wooldridge had 10 blocks and 12 kills for K-D, while Josiah McConville had 28 assists and eight blocks. Zach Noll passed for 11 assists for Dover, while J.T. Crossan had seven digs.
Northeastern 3, Eastern York 0: At Wrightsville, the Bobcats rolled to a 25-9, 25-17, 25-18. The three-time AA defending state champion Bobcats improved to 11-0 overall and 8-0 in the York-Adams League.
