In a showdown of two state-ranked boys' volleyball powers, York Suburban came away with a 20-25, 25-21, 25-22, 25-22 comeback triumph over visiting Central York on Thursday night.

Coming into the showdown, Suburban was ranked No. 5 in the state in Class AA in the latest Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association poll, while Central was ranked No. 5 in AAA.

Sepehr Vakili (10 kills), Jack Schultz (eight kills) and Kaleb Ansell (31 assists) powered Suburban.

Central's stat leaders were Hayden Wagner (19 kills), Drew Anderson (14 kills), Carter Luckenbaugh (41 assists) and Zak Kakos (10 digs).

Central won the JV match, 25-15, 12-25, 15-13.

OTHER BOYS' VOLLEYBALL

New Oxford 3, Eastern York 2: At Wrightsville, the home team suffered a 17-25, 25-15, 25-21, 22-25, 15-10 loss. Alex Neiderer (11 kills) John Wessel (10 kills, eight blocks), Kameron Weinberg (26 assists) and Gabe MiDisa (nine digs) led the Colonials. Eastern was led by Ryan Kalke (14 kills), Jarad Woods (13 kills) and Greg Houck (23 assists). Eastern won the JV match, 25-17, 25-23.

Northeastern 3, Kennard-Dale 0: At Manchester, the Bobcats, ranked No. 1 in the state in Class AA, continued to roll, 25-17, 25-10, 25-11. Reese Devilbiss (11 kills) and Brandon Arentz (10 kills) paced Northeastern. Josiah McConville (10 assists) and Kyle Wooldridge (nine kills) led K-D. The Bobcats also won the JV match, 25-12, 25-17.

Dover 3, West York 1: At West York, the visitors won, 25-20, 25-17, 20-25, 25-19 behind Zach Noll (40 assists, nine digs), Koleman Hoffman (24 kills, 11 digs), Hunter Shank (10 kills, six digs) and J.T. Crossan (14 digs). West York's leaders were Jacob May (16 assists, seven digs, five kills), Justin Myers (six kills, five blocks) and Drew Geller (eight digs). Dover won the JV match, 25-8, 25-11.

Dallastown 3, Susquehannock 0: At Dallastown, the Wildcats rolled, 25-18, 25-21, 25-15. Aaron Ward (12 kills, eight digs), Nathan Darr (10 kills, seven digs), Avery Terroso (eight kills, four digs), Payton Ranck (34 assists, 12 digs) and Dylan Fry (21 digs) led the winners. Susquehannock's stat leaders were Quinlan Kauffman (11 kills), Stephen Rouse (20 assists) and Nate Trego (11 digs). Dallastown won the JV match, 25-22, 25-20.

Red Lion 3, Spring Grove 0: At Red Lion, the host Lions had little trouble sweeping the visiting Rockets, 25-13, 25-17, 25-10. Cole Brillhart had 10 kills for Red Lion and John Longnecker had 37 assists and four aces. Dakota Parker came up with 12 digs for Spring Grove, while Luke Huffnagle finished with four kills.
