The Dallastown boys cruised into the District 3 Class 3-A Team Tennis Tournament semifinals on Monday with a 5-0 triumph over Central Dauphin at Racquet Club West in Lancaster.
The second-seeded Wildcats (13-1) swept all five matches in straight sets vs. the seventh-seeded Rams (13-4)
Holden Koons, Jonathan Burns and Sebastian May won in singles, while Jack Lynam/Noah May and Vincent Villani/Cameron Koons triumphed in doubles. Holden Koons didn't lose a single game in his No. 1 singles match.
In the semifinals at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Racquet Club West, Dallastown will face sixth-seeded Cumberland Valley (14-2), which beat third-seeded Cocalico in Monday's quarterfinals, 3-0. Cocalico dropped to 11-1. Dallastown beat Cumberland Valley on Tuesday, April 10, 3-2.
Hempfield 4, Red Lion 1: At Racquet Club West in Lancaster, the fifth-seeded Lions dropped their District 3 Class 3-A quarterfinal contest to fourth-seeded Hempfield. Red Lion fell to 14-3. Hempfield improved to 15-2. Alec Shue got Red Lion's only point with a straight-set win at No. 1 singles.
Pequea Valley 4, York Suburban 1: At Racquet Club West in Lancaster, the fifth-seeded Trojans lost to fourth-seeded Pequea Valley in a District 3 Class 2-A quarterfinal match. Suburban fell to 11-2. PV improved to 15-2. Liam Waterbury got Suburban's only point with a straight-set win at No. 2 singles. The Trojans lost two three-set decisions.
