TENNIS: Dallastown boys suffer District 3-AAA loss

The second-seeded Dallastown boys’ tennis team will now face a win-or-season-over match on Thursday after losing in the semifinal round of the District 3-AAA team championships.

The Wildcats dropped a 3-2 decision to No. 3 Hershey on Wednesday at the Hershey Racquet Club in the semifinals, dropping to the third-place match on Thursday, when they will need a win to qualify for the state tournament.

Freshman Holden Koons won at No. 1 singles to continue his stellar ninth-grade season, 6-4, 6-1, but he was the only Dallastown player to record a match victory. The Wildcats’ only other win came via an illness default at No. 2 singles.

Thursday’s third-place match will be at 2 p.m. at the Hershey Racquet Club against No. 4 Lower Dauphin.
