Dallastown rolled into the District 3-AAA Boys' Team Tennis semifinals on Tuesday with a 4-1 victory over 10th-seeded Manheim Central at the Hershey Racquet Club.
The second-seeded Wildcats received straight-set singles triumphs from Holden Koons at No. 1, Hunter Jones at No. 2 and David Trimmer at No. 3. Koons didn't lose a single game. Dallastown's No. 1 doubles team of Tyler Lilie and Nathan Swartz also won in straight sets.
Dallastown faces No. 3 seed Hershey at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, back at HRC. Hershey earned its semifinal berth by beating No. 6 seed Cumberland Valley, 3-2. The other semifinal pits No. 1 seed Hempfield vs. No. 4 seed Lower Dauphin.
York County's only other surviving entrant in the tournament was No. 5 seed South Western, which fell to Lower Dauphin, 4-0.
District doubles: Seven York-Adams teams have earned berths in the District 3 doubles tournaments.
In Class AAA, the local teams competing will be Central York's Chris Maderitz and Conner Bacha, Dallastown's Jones and Trimmer, South Western's Ben Sentz and Gavin Kenny and New Oxford's Joey Stiles and Josiah Forry.
In the AA, the York-Adams League will be represented by York Catholic's Michael Andrews and Alberto Bruno, York Suburban's Tyr Abendschoen and Tom Platts and Gettysburg's Adam Yingling and Zach Kiick. The Gettysburg duo earned the No. 4 seed. The Warriors pair is the only local team to get seeded.
The other seeds in AA are Lancaster Country Day's George Markley and Drew Kopan at No. 1, Wyomissing's Izaak Weaver-Herrera and Ben Croft at No. 2 and Donegal's Noah Zern and Andrew Ashley at No. 3.
The AAA seeds are: Hershey's Dante Falcucci and Jacob Jastrzebski at No. 1, Lower Dauphin's Josh Carl and Beck Wiles at No. 2, Cedar Crest's Nick Tull and Jackson Muriaka at No. 3 and Hempfield's Calvin Athey and Jake Curtain at No. 4.
