York-Adams League sending 24 teams to District 3 playoffs in soccer and field hockey

The District 3 pairings were released for boys' and girls' soccer and field hockey on Thursday.

The York-Adams League will send a total of 24 teams into district action in the three sports — nine in girls' soccer, eight in boys' soccer and seven in field hockey.

Boys' soccer: The highest seed among all of the York-Adams teams belongs to Division II and league champion Gettysburg (19-0-0) in Class AA boys' soccer. The Warriors, who many are touting as state title contenders, are No. 1 in that class, followed by No. 4 Susquehannock (13-6-0), No. 5 Bermudian Springs (14-3-0), No. 13 West York (10-7-1) and No. 16 Biglerville (13-7-0). In an interesting local match-up in the first round, West York travels to Susquehannock at 7:30 p.m. Monday.

In AAA boys' soccer, Division I champion Central York (19-2-0) comes in at No. 4, followed by No. 10 Dallastown (12-6-1) and No. 18 Red Lion (8-5-3).

Girls' soccer: Division III champion York Catholic (12-4-0) is ranked No. 2 in Class A in girls' soccer. Fairfield (13-3-1) is close behind at No. 3, while Delone Catholic (9-8-0) is No. 11.

In AAA girls' soccer, league champion Dallastown (14-4-2) is the top-rated local team at No. 11, followed by Central York (14-6-0) at No. 13 and Dover (13-3-3) at No. 17.

In AA girls' soccer, No. 4 Northeastern (15-4-1) leads the area outfits, followed by Susquehannock (12-3-2) at No. 5 and Gettysburg (10-7-0) at No. 13. Gettysburg will travel to Northeastern at 7 p.m. Monday in an all-York-Adams pairing.

Field hockey: In field hockey, Division I and league champion Dallastown (18-2-0) grabbed the No. 4 slot in AAA, followed by No. 8 Central York (14-4-0), No. 10 New Oxford (13-4-1) and No. 16 Red Lion (10-6-1).

In AA field hockey, Division II champion Gettysburg (18-1-0) earned the No. 3 spot, followed by No. 8 Bermudian Springs (17-3-0) and No. 13 Susquehannock (14-3-0).
