Stella continues to hold Pennsylvania high school basketball in its icy grip.
The major winter snow storm ripped through the state on Tuesday, forcing all PIAA playoff games on Tuesday and Wednesday to be postponed.
All of those games were originally rescheduled to be played Thursday, but the PIAA announced Thursday morning that a number of the games set for Thursday have now been moved again until Friday. Most of the games postponed until Friday involve teams from the northeast part of the state — a region that was particularly hard hit by Stella. Some areas in the northeast part of the state reportedly received 30 inches of the white stuff.
Among the games postponed was the Spring Grove Class 5-A boys' game against District 11 champion East Stroudsburg North (18-10). That game was set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Martz Hall in Pottsville. That game is now set for 7 p.m. Friday in Martz Hall. Spring Grove enters at 21-8 and as the fourth-place team from District 3.
In addition, the PIAA announced that the winners of any games played on Friday will play their quarterfinal contests on Sunday. So if the Rockets win Friday, their quarterfinal game would be Sunday.
Spring Grove was the only York area team that had its game postponed from Thursday until Friday. The other seven York-area teams are still scheduled to play Thursday.

Stella also claimed another victim on Thursday when Penn National Race Course announced that Thursday evening's live racing program was canceled. Live racing at Penn National is scheduled to resume Friday evening, with post time at 6 p.m.
