BOYS' HOOPS: Northeastern wins in OT
Northeastern and Central York wrapped up perfect divisional seasons on Tuesday night.
The Bobcats, however, had to work mighty hard to do it, nipping visiting West York in overtime, 58-57. Central, meanwhile, won at Red Lion, 62-49. Northeastern improved to 19-1 overall and finished 14-0 in York-Adams Division II. Central moved to 18-2 and finished 12-0 in Division I.
At Northeastern, the Bobcats needed every one of Kobi Nwandu’s game-high 24 points to edge their guests. The Bobcats trailed 44-39 to start the fourth quarter. Brandon Coleman scored 11 points for Northeastern, while teammate Fred Mulbah scored four of his nine points in the overtime for the Bobcats. West York was led by 14 points from Josh Bailey. Matt Dellorfano (12) and Kenton Meckley (11) were also in double digits for the Bulldogs. West York dropped to 12-7 overall and 9-5 in D-II.
At Red Lion, the Panthers trailed 21-20 at the half, but recovered in the third quarter to out score the Lions 21-12. Jared Wagner led the Panthers with 17 points. Courtney Batts knocked in 16 points for Central, while Onterio Edmonds scored 14 points. For the Lions, Kendrick Boyd-Gillespie scored 15 points, while teammate Gary Hart scored 12.
York High 75, Dallastown 66: At York, a balanced offense helped the Bearcats hold off the Wildcats. Montrel Morgan, Trey Shifflett and Jacquez Casiano each scored a team-high 16 points and teammate Kristopher Johnson added 14 for the Bearcats. Aaron Ward led all scorers with 21 points for Dallastown. Brandon McGlynn (14), Da’Trail Albert (13) and Mike Diaz (11) were the other Wildcats to crack double digits.
York Country Day 74, Hershey Christian 23: At York Country Day, DeAireus Brown led the Greyhounds with 20 points. Teammate Jordan Ray knocked in 15 points. YCD improved to 17-0.
Kennard-Dale 38, Littlestown 31: At Littlestown, Adam Freese led the Rams with 12 points in a defensive battle. Teammate Kyle Wooldridge knocked in 11 points.
Susquehannock 39, Bermudian Springs 29: At York Springs, Jacob Mahan led the Warriors with 10 points in a defensive struggle.
Red Lion Christian 51, Heritage Christian 48: At Red Lion Christian, Tate Pendell led the Swordsmen with 18 points. Zach Fahs scored 11 points for RLC, while John Keenan knocked in 10 points. RLC improved to 11-3 overall.
West Shore Christian 77, Christian School of York 36: At West Shore Christian, Anthony Torreullas led the Crusaders with 11 points.
