HOOPS: Bobcats clinch share of title


The Northeastern boys’ basketball team clinched at least a share of the York-Adams Division II title Thursday with an 86-45 road win over Kennard-Dale.

The Bobcats improved 16-1 on the year and 12-0 in division play, holding a three-game advantage over Eastern York with only three division games to play.

Five players finished in double figures for Northeastern, with Kobi Nwandu finishing with a game-high 22 points. Jordan Zirkle had 12 points, while Donovian Maxfield finished with 11 and both Antonio Rizzuto and Jeremiah McCarter had 10.

K-D got a team-high 12 points from Kyle Wooldridge, while Donnell Williams finished with 10.


Spring Grove 87, York Tech 47: At Spry, the Rockets rolled behind 24 points from Darin Gordon and 22 from Eli Brooks. Grant Wierman added 15 for the winners, who improved to 16-2 overall. Kahleik Savery poured in 20 points for Tech.

Dallastown 82, Susquehannock 40: At Glen Rock, 12 different Dallastown players scored, including a game-high 15 points from Brandon White, all of which came on 3-pointers. Aaron Ward also poured in 11 points for the Wildcats. Susquehannock's Adam Hedgeland scored 13 points and drained three 3-pointers.

York Country Day 58, Fairfield 33: At York, the Greyhounds improved to 15-0 with the easy win. No other details were reported.


Kennard-Dale 36, Northeastern 31: At Manchester, the Rams went on the road and stifled the Bobcats in a defensive struggle. Abby Pickney and Morgan Anderson finished with a team-high 10 points for K-D. For Northeastern, Jordyn Kloster had a game-high 18 points.

York Country Day 60, Fairfield 28: At York, Kirstyn Evans led the Greyhounds with 26 points. Teammate Stephanie Waltersdorf knocked in 18 points, including three 3-pointers.
