HOOPS: Greyhounds remain unbeaten

The York Country Day boys' basketball team remained unbeaten on the season with a 93-57 pounding of Harrisburg Academy on Thursday night.

The Greyhounds, who were ranked No. 1 in the latest District 3-A power ratings, improved to 11-0.

DeAireus Brown pumped in 34 points for the winners, while Jordan Ray added 23 and D.J. Hamilton collected 20.

YCD led just 18-15 after one quarter, but used a 34-15 second-quarter surge to take control.

BOYS' BASKETBALL

Red Lion Christian 64, C.H.E.S.S. 55: At Red Lion, the Swordsmen jumped out to a 10-point lead by the half and held C.H.E.S.S. at bay in the second half. Robert Englestad had 20 points for RLC, while Myles Willard added 15 and Tate Pendell finished with 13. RLC is now 6-3.

GIRLS' BASKETBALL

York Suburban 44, Bermudian Springs 10: At Suburban, the home team limited the visitors to four points on less in each quarter. Parker Faircloth-Henise and Molly Day each scored 11 points to pace the winners, who improved to 10-2.

Harrisburg Christian 32, Christian School of York 30: At Harrisburg Christian, the Crusaders trailed 26-15 going into the final quarter and made a comeback but came up just short. MeKenzie Smith led the Crusaders with10 points.
