A turnaround season for the Christian School of York baseball team came to close on Monday with a 4-3, eight-inning loss to Conestoga Christian.

The District 3-A first-round contest was played at In The Net in Palmyra.

Ben Bills was 4 for 4 for CSY with an RBI and a run scored. He had a triple and three singles. Anthony Torreullas was 3 for 3 for the Crusaders with a run scored. Matt Taylor scored a run and was intentionally walked five times.

No. 3 seed CSY left more than 12 runners on base. No. 6 seed Conestoga Christian improved to 9-5.

The Crusaders finished 10-3 overall, with one of those losses coming by forfeit for using an ineligible pitcher. CSY actually won that game on the field. The Crusaders also won the Commonwealth Christian Athletic Conference championship.

Just two years ago, CSY finished 1-9 and it was 8-9 in 2015.
