Central York scored five times in the top of the sixth to break open a close game and earn a comfortable 7-1 baseball win at New Oxford on Wednesday.
Beau Burris picked up the complete-game win for Central, while also hitting a double. Burris struck out 10 and walked one while allowing four hits.
Ben Ward also had a double to go along with a two-hit night.
Dallastown 3, Red Lion 0: At Dallastown, the Wildcats took down their rivals behind a strong pitching performance by senior Riley Hamberger. Hamberger struck out seven Red Lion batters, while holding the Lions to just one hit in a shutout effort. Tye Golden was 2 for 2 at the dish for Dallastown. Wyatt Tyson also pitched a complete game for Red Lion, striking out five.
York Suburban 7, Bermudian Springs 0: At Suburban, the Trojans scored multiple runs in three of their six at-bats to down the Eagles. Brad Smith lined two doubles for Suburban, while starting pitcher Thomas Merkle had five strikeouts in a shutout. Bermudian’s Tony Petrosky also doubled.
West York 7, Susquehannock 3: At West York, the Bulldogs got a nice all-around effort by Tyler Seiffert to down the Warriors. Seiffert not only threw a complete game on the mound for West York, but he also hit two doubles, while Colton Kubicki tripled.
Northeastern 11, Dover 1 (5 innings): At Manchester, the York-Adams Division II champion Bobcats rolled to a mercy rule triumph. They improved to 13-4 overall and 10-3 in the division. No other details were reported.
