BASEBALL: Christian School of York improves to 7-0


The Christian School of York baseball team improved to 7-0 behind Matt Taylor, who hit for the cycle on Thursday in a 13-8 triumph over Harrisburg Christian.


Taylor, who will play for Lancaster Bible College, finished 4 for 5 with five RBIs and a run scored. He also came on in relief and struck out four batters.

Ben Bills was 2 for 3 for CSY, including a double, with four runs scored and an RBI. Anthony Torreullas was 2 for 4 for the Crusaders, including a double, with two runs scored and an RBI. Torreullas will attend Nyack College. Ben Trout added two hits and an RBI.


Gettysburg 3, Eastern York 1: Eastern York held a 6-4 edge in hits, but that wasn't enough to earn the win. P.J. Cosden and David Buxton each recorded RBIs for Gettysburg, while Colby Shimmel drove in the only run for Eastern. Logan Carbaugh earned the win for the Warriors, allowing a run on six hits in a complete-game performance, striking out three. Both teams are now 4-3 in York-Adams Division III. Eastern is 6-5 overall, while Gettysburg is 5-4.
