York Catholic earned a pivotal York-Adams League Division IV baseball triumph on Wednesday over visiting Biglerville, 7-5.
The Canners (7-4 overall) still lead the division at 7-2, a half game ahead of York Catholic, which is 5-1 in the division. The Irish, however, have a one-game lead in the loss column vs. the Canners. York Catholic is 5-4 overall.
Brenden Kennedy (three hits, two runs, RBI) and Matt Knauer (three hits, RBI, run) paced York Catholic's 12-hit attack.
The Irish plated four runs in the bottom of the sixth to erase a 5-3 Biglerville lead.
Chris DeMarco got the win in relief, allowing one earned run over three innings. Kennedy pitched a scoreless seventh to get the save.
Dallastown 8, Central York 7: At Central, the visitors plated two runs in the top of the seventh to earn the win. Both teams banged out 12 hits. Beau Burris and Elzir Stroman doubled for Central, while Brandon White doubled for Dallastown. Stroman had three RBIs. Riley Hamberger had two hits and two RBIs for Dallastown, while Tye Golden added two RBIs. Nick Parker picked up the win in relief. Dallastown improved to 8-2 overall and 7-1 in York-Adams Division I.
Northeastern 7, West York 1: At Shiloh, Kody Reeser led the Bobcats by throwing a complete game, striking out eight, walking four and allowing two hits. Teammate Brayton Bare doubled. Northeastern improved to 8-3 overall and 5-2 in York-Adams Division II. The Bobcats lead the division. West York fell to 4-4 and 3-4.
Susquehannock 7, Dover 6 (8 innings): At Glen Rock, the Warriors trailed, 6-5, heading into the bottom of the seventh before extending the game with a run and winning it the next inning with another. Alec Kramer drove in two runs and Logan Mohar went 4 for 5 with an RBI and two runs scored for Susquehannock. Dover was led by Zach Altland, who went 2 for 3 with three RBIs and a pair of runs scored.
Fairfield 14, York County Tech 4 (6 innings): At Spry, Coleman Sachs came on in relief of starter Dustin Baker in the second inning before striking out 13 and walking three on his way to collecting the win. Juan Lopez doubled for the Spartans.
Gettysburg 5, York Suburban 4: At Suburban, the Warriors scored three in the top of the seventh to erase a 3-2 Suburban lead. Michael Tempel picked up the win. Bradley Smith doubled for Suburban's only extra-base hit.
Littlestown 11, Eastern 1 (6 innings): At Littlestown, Russell Livesay pitched a complete-game six-hitter for the win. Eastern was hurt by three errors. Eastern (6-4 overall) still leads York-Adams Division II at 4-2. Littlestown improved to 5-4 both overall and in the division.
Kennard-Dale 9, Bermudian Springs 6: At Fawn Grove, Joseph Thomas and Michael Lizzi ripped doubles to highlight K-D's nine-hit attack. Lizzi also got the win on the mound.
Red Lion 7, Spring Grove 6: At Red Lion, the Lions knocked Spring Grove out of a tie for first place. The Rockets fell to 6-5 overall and 6-2 in York-Adams Division I. The Lions improved to 5-4 and 4-3. No other details were reported.
