Spring Grove finished what it started on Tuesday afternoon.

The Rockets completed its District 3-AAA first-round baseball game against Bishop McDevitt with an 8-2 victory.

Spring Grove entered the day with a 6-2 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning after play had been suspended by rain on Monday.

The Rockets added two more runs in the fourth on Derrick Hoiles' two-run single on Tuesday to account for the final margin.

No. 4 seed Spring Grove improved to 16-6, while No. 13 seed McDevitt finished at 11-10.

The Rockets will now face 12th-seeded Greencastle in the quarterfinals at 4 p.m. Thursday at Northern York. Greencastle (12-8) upset fifth-seeded Lampeter-Strasburg on Monday, 4-2. Spring Grove beat Greencastle during the regular season, 8-1.

Matt Brooks worked the first four innings on Monday to get the win, allowing two unearned runs on two hits with six strikeouts. Anthony Reed finished with three shutout innings for Spring Grove on Tuesday, allowing one hit and fanning three. Hoiles finished with two hits, while Jon Sager scored two runs and Austin Piety drove in two runs.
