YORK-ADAMS BASEBALL: Susquehannock rallies to hand Eastern York its first loss

Susquehannock handed Eastern York its first baseball loss of the season on Monday afternoon, 9-7, in Glen Rock.

The Warriors ran into trouble early in the non-league contest, but a group of four relief pitchers would help to right the ship and hang on for the victory.

Susquehannock surrendered five runs to open the first. Reliever Alex Palmer got Susquehannock out of the first before teammate Ben Trego took over on the mound. Trego would be put in line for the win after the Warriors responded with six runs in the bottom of the second to take an 8-5 lead.

Josh Bobbitt and Dustin Babaie were the other Susquehannock hurlers to make relief appearances.

Wyatt Smith homered and doubled for Eastern. Connor Hood tripled for the victors.

Susquehannock improved to 3-4, while Eastern fell to 2-1.

Hershey 13, Red Lion 2: At Hershey, the Lions spotted the Trojans an 8-1 lead after the first inning and could never recover in the non-league contest. Patrick Daugherty and Hank Shultz had the two RBIs for Red Lion, which fell to 3-2. Gavin Hellman had the only two extra-base hits in the game for Hershey, going 2-for-4 with a double and home run and three RBIs.
