In 2019, however, the Rams may be poised to contend for a title.

K-D started the D-II season with a first-place finish on Monday in a tournament at Mountain View Golf Club near Fairfield.

The Rams, who were fourth in D-II a season ago, finished with a 338 total on Monday, which was 12 shots better than second-place York Suburban. Dover was third at 357, followed by defending D-II champion Susquehannock at 361. West York was fifth at 386, followed by Gettysburg at 409 and Eastern York at 437.

K-D's Josh Behles was the individual medalist with a 4-over-par 75. Dover's Trevor Snyder was next at 76. West York's Athen Sacher was the only other player to break 80 after shooting a 79. The top five was rounded out by Susquehannock's Andrew Roberts at 82 and K-D's Alexandra Smith at 84.

GIRLS' TENNIS

Dallastown 3, Trinity 2: At Trinity, the Wildcats opened up the 2019 season with a tight nonleague triumph over the Shamrocks. No other details were reported.

New Oxford 5, Littlestown 0: At Littestown, Kasi Conjack, Molly Socks and Kayla Hoffman swept the singles matches for New Oxford, losing just two combined games.
