Both course records were broken on Tuesday afternoon during a cross-country meet at Red Lion's Copper Beech course.

York Catholic's Christian Gervasi set the boys' record at 17 minutes, 45 seconds, breaking the previous mark of 18:02 set earlier this season by Sam Pugliese.

Red Lion's Kiersten Lloyd established a new girls' record at 19:38, breaking her own record of 19:56.

In the boys' meet, York Catholic went 2-0, followed by Red Lion at 1-1 and Dover at 0-2. Red Lion took the girls' meet at 2-0, followed by Dover at 1-1 and York Catholic at 0-2.

Dover's Tyler Rackley took second individually in the boys' meet, followed by York Catholic's Joseph Rizzuto.

In the girls' meet, Dover's Hannah Hogan took second, followed by Red Lion's Mera D'Aquilla.

Hirneisen leads Gettysburg to victory: At Spring Grove, Andrew Hirneisen's first-place finish in 17:38 led Gettysburg to the first-place team finish. Also for Gettysburg, Drew Cole took second. Spring Grove took second as a team, followed by Eastern York, York Tech and Biglerville. Individually for the the Spartans, Sean Smith took third.

CROSS COUNTRY

Gettysburg finishes first: At Spring Grove, Gettysburg finished first as a team. Anne Bair led the Warriors individually with a second-place finish, while teammate Megan Yingling took third. Eastern York came in second. Olivia McLain led the Golden Knights by finishing first individually. Spring Grove, Biglerville and York Tech did not have enough runners and forfeited against each other.

VOLLEYBALL

York Catholic 3, Hanover 0: At Hanover, the Lady Irish continued to roll with a 25-18, 25-21, 25-16 victory. The Irish are 10-1 overall and 7-1 in York-Adams Division III. York Catholic was ranked No. 7 in the state in Class 2-A in the most recent Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association poll. The Irish were led by McKenna Walker (15 digs), Megan Daugherty (15 assists) and Hope Leavy-Gaskins (10 kills). York Catholic won the JV match, 2-0.

Central York 3, Dallastown 0: At Dallastown, the Panthers won, 25-21, 25-22, 25-23. Alexa Shorts led the Panthers (9-0 overall, 8-1 in York-Adams Division I) with seven kills, four digs and three aces. Also for Central, Linnea Prudell had 19 assists and five digs, Jenna Arganbright had five kills and three blocks and Emily Prowell had four kills. For the Wildcats, Lydia Stump had eight kills and 11 digs, while Syd Ohl had seven kills and eight digs and Izzy Ream had 29 assists. Central won the JV match, 25-12, 25-27, 15-7.

South Western 3, Northeastern 0: At Manchester, the Mustangs won the match, 25-8, 25-17, 25-20. Ali St. Rose led the Mustangs with 11 kills and 12 digs. Teammate Madisyn McMaster had 20 assists, 12 digs and five kills. South Western won the JV match, 25-16, 25-20. No Bobcats' statistics were available.

Eastern York 3, Gettysburg 2: At Gettysburg, the Golden Knights won, 17-25, 25-19, 25-13, 21-25, 15-13. Sarah Moore led the Knights with 20 kills and eight digs. Also for Eastern, Katie Lehman had 43 assists and 12 digs, Morgan Winter had seven kills and nine digs and Morgan Dobbeck had eight kills and four digs. Gettysburg won the JV match 2-0.

Susquehannock 3, York High 0: At Glen Rock,the Warriors rolled, 25-10, 25-10, 25-11. Susquehannock's stat leaders were Emma Sieling (six kills) and Alex Somerville (nine assists). York High was paced by Jae Fitch (five digs). Susquehannock won the JV match, 2-0.

Red Lion 3, Spring Grove 0: At Red Lion, the Lions grabbed a 28- 26, 25-13, 25-9 victory. Maddie Grim (29 assists), Katie Thompson (seven kills, five digs, five aces) and Julia Beiler (nine kills, seven assists) paced the Lions. Spring Grove's leaders were Hailey Marcionette (five digs, 11 assists) and Hailey Wolfe (16 digs).

York Suburban 3, Kennard-Dale 0: At Suburban, the Trojans cruised, 25-16, 25-12, 25-6. Suburban's stat leaders were Alyssa Hocker (10 kills) and Lauren Guyer (26 assists). The Trojans are 10-1 overall and 8-1 in Y-A D-II.

West York 3, New Oxford 0: At New Oxford, the Bulldogs triumphed, 25-19, 25-11, 25-16. Julia Rill (seven kills) and Taylor Morley (20 assists, four kills) powered West York (11-1 overall, 9-0 in Y-A D-II).

GIRLS' TENNIS

Dover 4, Spring Grove 1: At Dover, the Eagles received singles victories from Becca Baker and Margaret Mailey. In doubles, Emily Moyer and Lydia Golden combined to win the No. 1 match, while Brooke Wiley and Zoe Nahum combined to win the No. 2 match. For the Rockets, Shannon Ruby won a singles match.
