In the first semifinal at 6 p.m., regular-season champion and No. 1 seed Northeastern (14-0 overall and 11-0 league) faces No. 4 seed Dallastown (9-7, 8-3). The other semifinal at 7:30 p.m. matches No. 2 seed Central York (11-1, 10-1) vs. No. 3 seed York Suburban (10-4, 9-2).

The championship match is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday back at Dallastown.

The league boys' volleyball playoff format has been changed for this season. Previously, six league teams made the playoffs, with the top two seeds getting byes into the semifinals. This year, only four teams qualified for the playoffs.

Central is the defending league playoff champion, earning a 3-2 win over Northeastern last season.

The Bobcats, however, gained a measure of revenge last Thursday when they stormed back from an 0-2 hole to beat Central 3-2 in a showdown to decide the regular-season crown.

In the latest Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association rankings, Northeastern was No. 1 in the state in Class 2-A, while Central was No. 3 in 3-A. The Bobcats are the five-time defending PIAA 2-A state champions. Central won the 3-A state title a season ago.

The last team other than Central or Northeastern to win a Y-A playoff title was Suburban in 2012.

Baseball: The Y-A baseball playoffs are slated to start Tuesday with the semifinals.

Division I champion Dallastown (16-4 overall, 13-2 in D-I) is the two-time defending league playoff champion. The Wildcats will face D-II champion Gettysburg (12-7, 9-5) at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Spring Grove.

Two Adams County schools will face off in the other semifinal when D-III champion Littlestown (14-4, 11-3) meets D-IV champion Biglerville (15-5, 12-3) at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at New Oxford.

The championship game is slated for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at New Oxford.

In the regular season, Dallastown beat Gettysburg, 9-2, and Biglerville beat Littlestown, 10-1.

Softball: Like baseball, the Y-A softball semifinals are set for Tuesday, with D-I champion Central York (19-0, 15-0) meeting D-II champ Northeastern (13-6, 10-4) in one semifinal at 5 p.m. at New Oxford. The other semifinal will match D-III champ Kennard-Dale (15-0, 14-0) vs. D-IV champion Delone Catholic (12-5, 12-3) at 5 p.m. at Susquehannock.

Central is the three-time defending league playoff champion.
