Spring Grove handed the West York baseball team a costly 6-4 loss on Tuesday.

The loss dropped West York (9-6 overall) into second place in York-Adams Division II at 7-4. Gettysburg (9-4 overall), which beat York Suburban on Tuesday, 7-0, improve to 7-3 in the division.

Gettysburg travels to West York in a pivotal D-II contest Wednesday afternoon.

Spring Grove improved to 5-8 overall and 3-8 in Division I.

Connor Reed (three hits, three runs, RBI) and Ethan Zorbaugh (two hits, RBI) led Spring Grove. Zorbaugh also got the win on the mound, going 6 1/3 innings and allowing four runs. Colton Kubicki had three hits and a run scored for West York.

BASEBALL

Susquehannock 18, Hanover 3 (3 innings): At Glen Rock, the Warriors took advantage of 13 walks allowed by Hanover pitchers and four errors committed by Hanover defenders. Noah Miller doubled and had three RBIs for Susquehannock. Miller also pitched all three innings and didn't allow an earned run, while striking out five. Joe Gusherowski had three walks and scored three runs for Susquehannock.

Littlestown 12, Eastern York 6: At Wrightsville, Eastern's Bren Taylor continued his torried hitting pace, but it wasn't enough to carry the Golden Knights to the win. Taylor, who came into the game hitting .640, finished 2 for 3 with a homer and a triple, driving in three runs and scoring two. Jacob Bardo added two hits, an RBI and a run scored for the Knights.

Biglerville 10, York Catholic 4: At York, the Irish fell behind 5-0 after 1 1/2 innings and couldn't recover in a key York-Adams Division IV battle. YC fell to 7-4 overall and 7-3 in D-IV. Biglerville improved to 10-4 and 8-3 and now leads the division. Kevin Duncan doubled and drove in two Irish runs. Chance Petteys pitched three innings of one-hit shutout relief for the Irish.

Gettysburg 7, York Suburban 0: At Gettysburg, Josh Topper (six innings) and Kyle Redding (one inning) combined on a two-hitter for the Warriors.

SOFTBALL

York Catholic 5, Biglerville 0: At York Catholic, the Irish improved to 8-4 overall and 8-2 in York-Adams Division IV behind a one-hit shutout from Rebecca Baum, who struck out 15 with three walks. Kelleigh Pollock (three hits, two runs, RBI), Grace Gardini (two hits, two runs), Katelyn Danczyk (two RBIs) and Annabella Ebel (two hits, run) paced the YC offense.

Eastern York 1, Littlestown 0: At Wrightsville, Maelynn Leber pitched a seven-hit shutout, striking out four. Morgan Dobbeck drove in the only run of the game. Eastern improved to 9-4 overall and 7-3 in York-Adams Division III.

GIRLS' LACROSSE

Susquehannock 19, Dover 6: At Dover, the Warriors improved to 13-2 overall and 11-0 in the York-Adams League behind big games from Kalen Hancock (five goals, assist), Kenna Hancock (three goals, three assists) and Emma Stiffler (goal, six assists). Annie Long had three Dover goals.

Eastern York 15, West York 8: At Wrightsville, Addison Malone (six goals, two assists) and Elle Lippy (two goals, assist) led Eastern. Sydney Sweitzer (three goals, assist) and Holly Detwiler (three goals) paced West York.

Red Lion 6, Dallastown 5: At Red Lion, Sara Simms led the Lions to the victory by scoring one goal and adding two assists. Also for the Lions, Peyton Shima and Kaiya Edwards each scored two goals. For the Wildcats, Olivia Orendorf scored two goals. 

New Oxford 16, Central York 15: The Colonials grabbed the narrow win despite six goals from Central York's Maddy Kurland and four goals from Liz Rader. Emily Kurland added three goals and an assist for the Panthers, who fell to 11-5 overall and 8-4 in the York-Adams League.

Kennard-Dale 22, York Suburban 6: At Suburban, Megan Halczuk (six goals, four assists), Maddie Day (five goals, assist), Morgan Bowings (four goals, two assists), Amelie Gamache (four goals, two assists) and Autumn Kramer (three goals) powered K-D (13-1 overall, 10-1 in the York-Adams League). Kamille Wasilewski  and Anna Williams each had two Suburban goals.

BOYS' LACROSSE

York Suburban 15, Kennard-Dale 4: At Fawn Grove, Evan LeCates led the Trojans by scoring three goals and adding one assist. Also for Suburban, Dominic Corto had one goal and four assists, Austin Sipes had two goals and one assist and Bryce Gavin, Lucien St. Onge and Ben Salazar each scored two goals, while Jason Mills had one goal and one assist.

York Catholic 17, Delone Catholic 2: At York, the Irish (11-4 overall, 10-2 York-Adams League) rolled behind strong games from Chandler Hake (six goals, five assists), Matthew Cassidy (goal, three assists), Cole Witman (four goals, three assists), Dimitri Amalfitano (four goals) and Joey Fiorenza (three goals).

Susquehannock 20, Dover 3: At Glen Rock, the Warriors (12-3 overall, 10-2 York-Adams League) were led by Colin Kernan (five goals, assist), Adam Rebich (two goals, two assists), Levi Hall (goal, three assists), Jacob Bedgar (two goals, assist) and Gavin Held (two goals, assist). Sean MacDonald had two Dover goals.

South Western 13, Spring Grove 9: At Hanover, the Mustangs were led by four goals each from James Strausbaugh and Sean Quinn. Zeb Hollinger had three goals and three assists for Spring Grove.
