PREP: Zeb Hollinger's 13-point night powers Spring Grove boys' lacrosse team to easy win

  • The Spring Grove boys' lacrosse team rolled to a 20-2 nonleague win over Conestoga Valley.

Zeb Hollinger enjoyed a 13-point night on Monday to power the Spring Grove boys' lacrosse team to a 20-2 nonleague pounding of visiting Conestoga Valley.


Hollinger finished with six goals and seven assists.

Jordan Hawkins added three goals and two assists for the Rockets, while Peyton Speer scored three goals and Camden Markle and Jake Delaughter each scored two goals.

The Rockets' defense held the visitors to 11 shots.

Spring Grove improved to 5-3.



Central York 20, Penn Manor 5: At Central York, Ryan Fahs scored five goals and matched them with five assists as the Panthers cruised to the nonleague victory. Ryan Kilgour had two goals and four assists and teammate Matt Hawksworth finished with three goals and an assist for Central York, which improved to 8-0 overall.

York Suburban 9, Red Land 8: At York Suburban, Austin Sipes led the Trojans to the nonleague victory by scoring five goals. Also for Suburban, Dominic Corto had one goal and four assists, Evan LeCates had one goal and three assists and Riley Purcell scored two goals. Trojans goalie Blake Wallace made 20 stops in goal.


Conestoga Valley 11, Spring Grove 10: At Conestoga Valley, Emma Randisi led the Rockets in the nonleague loss by scoring a game-high seven goals. Teammate Hylin Sorrell scored three goals and added one assist. 

South Western 18, West York 7: At Hanover, Caitlyn Coates scored a game-high six goals to lead the Mustangs. Also for the Mustangs, Adreanna Hacker scored two goals and added five assists. For the Bulldogs, Blake Wilker scored three goals, while Makennah Hoffman scored two goals. 


Dover 3, Linville 0: At Dover, the Eagles won, 25-17, 25-15, 25-15. Dakota Dehoff led the Eagles with nine kills. Also for Dover, Zach Noll had 21 assists and three kills, Alex Irwin had seven kills and Devin Crone had seven kills and five digs. 

Cumberland Valley 3, Red Lion 0: At Red Lion, the home team dropped a 25-13, 25-14, 25-18 nonleague loss to a CV team ranked No. 3 in the state in Class 3-A by the Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association. The Red Lion stat leaders were: Logan Axe (six kills) and Connor Baker (eight assists). CV won the junior varsity match, 2-0.

Hershey 3, Spring Grove 0: At Spring Grove, the Rockets suffered a 25-17, 25-14, 25-18 nonleague loss. The Rocket stat leaders were: Aaron Gunarich (six kills, four digs), Aaron Mummert (five kills) and Caleb Becker (14 assists, four digs).

Manheim Central 3, York Suburban 1: At Manheim Central, Peter Gronki had 12 kills and Noah Chojnacki had 40 assists and 11 digs for the Trojans as they fell 25-19, 25-18, 22-25, 25-15 in nonleague action.
