Spring Grove erupted for five, seventh-inning runs to erase a 7-5 South Western lead en route to a 10-7 road baseball victory over the Mustangs on Thursday.

Dylan Spangler's two-run single gave the Rockets the lead for good at 8-7. Spangler also doubled and scored a run, while pitching a shutout bottom of the seventh to get the save.

Spring Grove's other hitting leaders were Trent Baker (three hits, triple, double, three RBIs, run), Connor Reed (two hits, two RBIs, two runs) and Kevin Cruz (two hits, two runs).

Ryan Meckley had three hits for South Western, while Connor Wilson doubled twice and Garrett Moore doubled with two RBIs.

OTHER BASEBALL

Central York 16, Northeastern 6 (6 innings): At Central, the Panthers stormed back from a 6-4 deficit after 3 1/2 innings to earn a victory shortened to six innings because of the 10-run rule. The Panthers scored 12 runs in their final three at-bats. Cannon Maye (four hits, two RBIs, run), Nick Myers (three hits, double, six RBIs, run), Colin Young (three hits, triple, three RBIs, four runs) and Ryan Pepler (two hits, double, two RBIs, three runs) paced Central. Northeastern's leaders were: Jacob Cederberg (two hits, two runs), Josh Rich (two hits, double, RBI), Spencer Rhoads (double, two RBIs), Wade Wolfgang (two RBIs)

York Tech 5, Hanover 3: At Hanover, Kaden Rogers pitched three innings of hitless, shutout relief to get the win, striking out three. Nathan Chronister (two hits, triple, two runs, RBI), Juan Lopez (two RBIs) and Luke Greisler (double, RBI, run) paced the Tech attack.

Biglerville 1, Susquehannock 0: At Biglerville, the Canners scored in the bottom of the seventh to walk off with the win. Ben Trego (three innings) and Noah Miller (3 1/3 innings) combined on a seven-hitter for the Warriors. Sam Odegaard had two hits for Susquehannock.

SOFTBALL

Central York 9, West York 3: At West York, Briana Smith pitched four, three-hit, shutout innings to get the win, striking out five with no walks. Erin Cabry (two hits, two runs), Taylor Sanders (two hits, double, two RBIs, run), Courtney Coppersmith (two hits, double, RBI, run), Emily Smith (two hits, two RBIs, run) amd Kristina Landis (double, two RBIs) paced Central's attack. Breanna Harvey (three hits, RBI, run) and Hannah Herlacker (two hits, double, run) led West York. Central improved to 5-0 overall and 4-0 in York-Adams Division I.

Susquehannock 6, Gettysburg 2: At Gettysburg, Kari Cox pitched a complete-game six hitter and didn't allow an earned run. She struck out five. Gabi Almiroudis (two hits, double, two RBIs), Brooke Bosley (two hits, two RBIs), Cox (two hits, run), Alyssa Garrett (two hits) and Aanna Bryan (two RBIs, run) led the Warriors, who improved to 3-1 both overall and in York-Adams Division II.

Hanover 19, York Tech 4 (3 innings): At Hanover, in a game shortened to three innings because of the 15-run rule, Avery Martz doubled twice to lead Hanover, while Lexi Hippensteel got the win. 

BOYS' TENNIS

Hershey 4, Dallastown 1: In nonleague action at Hershey, the Trojans handed Dallastown its first loss after opening the season with nine straight wins. Holden Koons won at No. 1 singles in straight sets for Dallastown's lone point.

Northeastern 5, Dover 0: At Manchester, Josh Sanderson, Lance Fries and Haydne Golden each earned 6-0, 6-0 singles wins. Tony Damian and Ryan McElwain also won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles. Dover forfeited No. 2 doubles. The Bobcats improved to 6-2 overall.

West York 4, Spring Grove 1: At Spring Grove, West York swept the singles matches in straight sets behind Augie Citrone, Jack Citrone and Noah Sanderson.

Red Lion 5, Donegal 0: At Donegal, the Lions (8-1) rolled to five straight-set wins, led by singles players Alex Schor, Cameron Wheeler and Alec Shue.

Manheim Central 5, Central York 2: At Manheim, Michael Gilliland won at No. 1 singles and the team of Jack Vlazny and Rolen McPaul won at No. 3 doubles for Central's points in the nonleague loss.

BOYS' VOLLEYBALL

Spring Grove 3, Kennard-Dale 2: At Spring Grove, the home team rallied for a 19-25, 25-16, 17-25, 25-19, 15-10 win. Caleb Becker (29 assists), Dalton Mummert (15 kills), Aaron Gunarich (nine kills, five assists), Evan Markle (11 kills) and Daniel Gonzalez (eight digs, seven kills, five blocks) paced the Rockets. K-D's leaders were James Lippiard (15 kills, six digs), Noah McConville (14 kills, 13 digs), John Enders (33 assists, 13 digs) and Wesley Forrester (eight kills). Spring Grove won the JV match, 2-1.

West York 3, Lititz Christian 2: At West York, the Bulldogs grabbed a 25-20, 26-28, 25-20, 20-25, 15-9 win. Ian Watson (19 digs, seven kills), Gabe Mummert (12 kills), Shaun Lucas (17 digs), Ian Gentzler (15 digs), Mike Washington (nine kills) and Alex McClellan (eight kills) powered West York.

Penn Manor 3, Dallastown 0: At Millersville, the Wildcats suffered a 25-15, 25-20, 25-23 nonleague setback.

Cumberland Valley 3, Susquehannock 0: In a match from Wednesday, unbeaten Cumberland Valley (7-0) earned a 27-25, 25-16 25-15 win. Jacob Williams (13 digs, six kills), Brandon Milano (10 digs) and Tanner Bonitz (seven digs, three kills, three aces) led the Warriors.

BOYS' TRACK

York Tech 101, Delone Catholic 49: At Spry, the Spartans were led by double individual winners Kole Shenberger (110 and 300 hurdles) and Jaiere Alford (100, 200).

York Suburban 88, Northeastern 61: At Suburban, Bohdi Wilson (200, high jump) and Aiden Fryar (shot put, pole vault) each won two individual events to power the Trojans.

Dallastown 83, South Western 67: At Hanover, Bryce Gable captured first in the 1,600 and 3,200, while Brian Thomas won the high jump and 200 to lead the Wildcats.

GIRLS' TRACK

York Suburban 75, Northeastern 74: At Suburban, Katie Wand’s big day in the field helped the host Trojans edge the Bobcats. Wand won the triple, long and high jumps, as well as taking a first-place finish in the javelin. Jacque Shockey (discus), Desirae Bennett (shot put) and Grace Tyson (pole vault) led Suburban to a sweep in the field. Sophia Decker won the 110 and 300 hurdles for Northeastern

South Western 85, Dallastown 65: At Hanover, Zaiah Marshall won the triple jump and long jump for South Western. For the Wildcats, Riyana Owens won the 100 and 200, while Emily Schuler won the 1,600 and 3,200.

Delone Catholic 111, York Tech 38: At Spry, Lauren Trummer led the Squirettes by winning the long jump and triple jump and 300 and 100 hurdles.
