The Red Lion boys' volleyball team rallied from a 2-1 hole to earn a 3-2 York-Adams League triumph over visiting Dover on Monday night.
The game scores were 25-22, 20-25, 18-25, 25-23, 15-6.
Jared Bodish (11 kills), Blake Hildebrand (nine kills), Zak Keener (eight kills, five blocks), Connor Baker (18 assists) and Ethan Shoup (20 assists) paced Red Lion.
Dover was led by Zach Noll (24 assists, eight aces), Alex Irwin (nine kills, eight digs), Dakota Dehoff (17 kills), Devin Crowe (eight kills, seven digs) and Nick Spangler (16 assists, five digs, four kills, four blocks).
Red Lion won the junior varsity match, 2-1.
Red Land 3, Eastern York 0: At Red Land, the Golden Knights lost the nonleague match, 25-19, 25-11, 25-9. Dalton Leik led the Golden Knights with 10 kills, five digs and four aces. Also for Red Land, Brady Bixler had three blocks, while Devyn Sanders had six assists. Red Land won the JV match, 2-0.
Dallastown 5, Northeastern 0: At Manchester, the Wildcats received singles victories from Holden Koons, Jonathon Burns and Sabastian May. In doubles, Tony Damian and Ryan McElwain combined to win the No. 1 match, while Noah May and Cameron Koons combined to win the No. 2 match.
Susquehannock 4, Delone Catholic 1: At McSherrystown, the Warriors received singles victories from Justin Feild and Ian McDonald. The Warriors won both doubles matches by forfeit.
Dallastown 9, Dover 3: At Dallastown, the Wildcats (4-0) started their York-Adams League season with a victory, Kelsie Merriman pitched a complete-game five-hitter, allowing one earned run. She struck out 10 and walked two. Delaney Kolb (two hits, RBI, run), Brianna Rufo (two hits, two runs), Shauna Stotler (two hits, triple, two RBIs, run), Elaina Winemiller (two hits, triple, two runs, RBI) and Kyndall Hopkins (two RBIs) paced Dallastown's offense. Riley Runk had two hits and two RBIs for Dover. Kayla King and Dakota Hockensmith doubled for Dover. King also pitched two innings of shutout relief.
South Western 22, Dover 3: At Hanover, Sean Quinn scored five goals to lead the Mustangs. Teammate James Strausbaugh scored four goals. For the Eagles, Darius Anderson scored one goal and added one assist.
Red Lion 13, New Oxford 12 (OT): At Red Lion, Peyton Shima capped a five-goal effort by scoring with 57 seconds remaining in overtime to give the host Lions the victory. Red Lion also got a four-goal game from Emily Harrington. New Oxford was led by Carley Flickinger, who recorded three goals and an assist.
Central York 20, Conestoga Valley 9: At York, Abby McFerren (seven goals, assist), Emily Kurland (two goals, six assists), Madison Kurland (four goals, two assists), Liz Rader (five goals) and Carli Cohn (seven saves) powered Central to the win.
