PREP NOTES: Six former York Catholic standouts to be inducted into Athletic Hall of Fame
York Catholic High School’s Athletic Association is inducting six new members into its Athletic Hall of Fame.
Those being inducted this year, listed with their graduation year, are: Kelly Rhein Bray (2008), Sarah Cadwallader Fermento (2008), Patrick Hickey (1996), Ashton Bankos Hirsch (2008), Jacob Iati (2008) and Tim McConville (1994).
The inductees will be introduced Saturday, Jan. 13, before the start of the girls’ varsity basketball game vs. Minersville, scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. tip-off. The induction and a reception immediately follows the game in the cafeteria.
The York Catholic High School Athletic Association Athletic Hall of Fame honors former coaches and student athletes, as well as the dedication of athletic program volunteers.
Littlestown beats York Tech in wrestling: At Spry, the Littlestown Thunderbolts rolled to a 42-30 wrestling triumph over York Tech.
The Thunderbolts received pins from Connor Brown (106), Mason Hurst (126), Zach Ressler (132) and Carl Harris (182).
For the Spartans, Jacob Sharp (220) and Todd Edick (285) each picked up pins.
West York falls to South Western in wrestling: At West York, the Bulldogs dropped a 53-18 wrestling decision to South Western.
The Mustangs received pins from Cameron Stevens (152), Ethan Baney (160), Cole Stremmel (182), Dylan Goodman (195), Tommy Morris (220) and Josh Martz (106).
For the Bulldogs, Claudio Cruz (170) picked up a pin.
Eastern York rolls past Hanover in wrestling: At Hanover, Eastern York rolled to a 57-15 wrestling triumph over the Nighthawks.
The Golden Knights received pins from Thomas Paulson (126), Zach Dice (138), Dylan Prugar (152), Jashim Snyder (195) and Nick Hess (285).
Dallastown loses in ice hockey: The Dallastown ice hockey team fell behind 7-0 in the first period and could never recover in a 13-6 loss to Lampeter-Strasburg in a Central Penn Interscholastic Hockey League Rothrock Division contest at the York City Ice Arena on Wednesday.
Dallastown fell to 0-11-1. L-S improved to 4-5-0.
Cooper Webber and Brayden Bailey each had two assists for Dallastown. Tanner Haines, Brock Stitley, Christopher Shears, Duncan Webber, Ian Smith and Noah Flaharty had Dallastown's goals.
