PREP: Central York boys' soccer team finishes off perfect Y-A Division I regular season


The Central York boys' soccer team finished off a perfect York-Adams Division I season with a 7-0 win over visiting Dallastown on Wednesday, Oct. 12.

Central finished 12-0-0 in the division and improved to 18-1 overall.


Carter Mummert and Jon Edris led the Panthers to the home victory. Mummert scored one goal and added two assists, while Edris scored three goals. Also for Central, Zach Mummert, Nick Starr and Alex McNair each scored one goal apiece, while Allan Guttierez and Jake Broederdorf each added one assist apiece.



Kennard-Dale 3, Eastern York 1: At Fawn Grove,  Kevin Avalos led the Rams to the victory by scoring one goal and adding one assist. Also for K-D, Craig Potts and Max Cooper each scored one goal, while Noah McConville and James Lippiard each added one assist. For the Golden Knights, Colin Snyder scored a first-half goal. 



Central York 3, Spring Grove 0: At Central, the Panthers cruised, 25-9, 25-22, 25-14, to improve to 9-1 in York-Adams Division I, clinching at least a share of the division crown. Linnea Prudell (22 assists), Marley Anderson (16 digs), Alexa Shorts (eight kills, seven digs) and Emily Wilt (seven kills) paced the winners. Airika McCaskill (six kills), Kaylyn Zeigler (five kills, 10 assists) and Hailey Marcionette (eights assists, seven digs) led the Rockets. Spring Grove won the JV match, 2-0.

Kennard-Dale 3, Lititz Christian 2: At Fawn Grove, the Rams won, 27-25, 16-25, 25-20, 24-26, 15-10. Jess Moore led the Rams with 14 kills, eight digs, 11 assists and six aces. Also for K-D, Mackenzie DeVita had seven kills and 11 digs, Jaden Gray had seven kills and seven digs and Andrea Wolf had 17 digs, five aces and three kills. K-D won the JV match, 2-0.

Eastern York 3, Solanco 0: At Wrightsville, the Golden Knights won, 25-15, 25-12, 25-17. Individually for the Golden Knights, Brooke LaCesa had 14 kills, Sarah Moore had seven kills and four digs, Morgan Dobbeck had 17 digs and Katie Lehman had 19 assists and three digs. Eastern York won the JV match, 2-0.


Eastern York 8, Fairfield 1: At Wrightsville, the Golden Knights were led by Kelsey Felix (four assists), Cassidy Arnold (two goals, two assists) and Addison Malone (two goals). Morgan Arnold, Lily Campbell, Abby Rhine and Emma Hoak also scored goals for Eastern. Eastern and York Country Day battled to a 0-0 JV tie.

South Western 3, Spring Grove 1: At Hanover, Kat Study had a goal and two assists to lead the Mustangs. Kiersten Syder scored for Spring Grove. South Western won the JV match, 1-0.
