PREP: Jillian Sleeth scores only goal in Red Lion's field hockey win vs. Spring Grove

Red Lion's Jillian Sleeth broke a 0-0 tie when she found the back of the net at the 8:43 mark of the second half to give the Lions a 1-0 field hockey triumph over visiting Spring Grove on Thursday, Sept. 28.

Red Lion's Ali Anderson made three stops in goal to record the shutout. For the Rockets, Ashton Ball made six saves.

The Lions improved to 6-2-1 in York-Adams Division I.

New Oxford 1, Dallastown 0, OT: At Dallastown, in a battle of York-Adams Division I powers, the Colonials won in OT on a goal by Carly Flickinger, off an assist from Bri Smith. New Oxford's Franzie Bacher made eight saves to get the shutout. The Wildcats fell to 5-2-1 in the division, while New Oxford improved to 4-2-2. Dallastown won the JV match, 3-0.

Kennard-Dale 8, Pequea Valley 0: At Fawn Grove, Jenna Soukaseum led the Rams by recording a first-half hat trick. Morgan Bowings scored two goals, while Corrine Sharnetzka, Jenna Crosby and Riley Chandler each scored one goal. Aisley Bergdoll, Lexi Barlow and Chloe Fornoff each picked up one assist.



Dallastown 3, Red Lion 1: At Dallastown, the Wildcats triumphed, 25-23, 23-25, 25-9, 25-16. The Wildcats were led by Delaney Kolb (13 kills, nine digs), Lexie Kalligonis (21 digs), Gabby Ream (34 assists) and Tatiana Matuszewski (20 kills, seven digs, six blocks). Red Lion was paced by Jenna Enfield (12 aces, five digs) and Maddie Grim (13 assists). Dallastown won the JV game, 2-0.

Gettysburg 3, Kennard-Dale 0: At Fawn Grove, the Warriors cruised, 25-19, 25-20, 25-23. Andrea Wolf (four kills, six digs, four aces), Lindsey Wilson (six digs) and Lexie Kopko (nine kills) led the Rams. Gettysburg won the JV match, 2-1.

Northeastern 3, York High 0: At Manchester, the Bobcats won, 25-12, 25-8, 25-6. Ashley Kohr led the Bobcats with eight digs, three kills and three aces. Also for Northeastern, Natalie Martin had 13 assists, Ashley Klinger had six kills and Courtney Dolan had five aces. For the Bearcats, Jae Fitch had four kills and three digs, while Keisha Ortiz and Paola Negron had three assists apiece. Northeastern won the JV match, 2-0. 

Central York 3, Dover 0: At Dover, the Panthers won the match, 25-11, 25-19, 25-20. Alexa Shorts led the Panthers with 13 kills, four digs and five aces. Also for Central, Linnea Prudell had 33 assists and five digs, Emily Wilt had 11 kills, eight digs and Jenna Arganbright had nine kills. For the Eagles, Chayce Hoffman had seven kills and six digs, while Emma Davis had nine kills and five blocks and Abby Diehl had 17 assists, three blocks, four digs and three kills. Central won the JV match, 2-0.

West York 3, Susquehannock 0: At West York, the first-place Bulldogs rolled, 25-20, 25-14, 25-22 to improve to 8-0 in York-Adams Division II.
