The pairings for the 2017 York-Adams League Baseball Tournament are now set.

Dallastown will attempt to defend its league playoff title when postseason action starts next week.

Senior Jake Gates was strong in Dallastown's Y-A League semifinal win over York Catholic and will factor into the team's pitching plans heading into the state tournament.

The Wildcats (14-4 overall) won another D-I regular-season title this season with a 12-2 mark. In Tuesday's semifinals, the Wildcats will face Division IV champion York Catholic at 5 p.m. at Spring Grove. The Fighting Irish are 10-7 overall and won D-IV with a 10-5 mark.

Tuesday's other semifinal will pit Division II co-champion Gettysburg vs. Division III co-champion Susquehannock at 5 p.m. at New Oxford.

Gettysburg (12-6 overall) finished tied for the D-II top spot with West York at 10-4. The Adams County Warriors, however, earned the league playoff berth by virtue of the first tiebreaker — head-to-head competition. Gettysburg captured a pair of one-run victories over the Bulldogs, including a 5-4 decision on Wednesday.

Susquehannock (16-4 overall) also tied for first in D-III with rival Kennard-Dale at 12-2. The York County Warriors, however, won by virtue of the second tiebreaker — "the results of the respective teams' contests against the schools in their division finishing below the tied teams, from top to bottom, until the tie is broken."

The league championship game is set for 5 p.m. Wednesday at Spring Grove.

Softball: The pairings for the league softball tournament have  not been finalized.

Three of the divisions have been decided, but the Division II champion won't be determined until Monday.

The Division I champion is Central York, which is 19-1 overall and finished 14-1 in its division.

The Division III champion is Kennard-Dale, which is 14-2 overall and finished 13-1 in its division.

The Division IV champion is Delone Catholic, which is 13-4 overall and finished 13-2 in its division.

Northeastern (9-9 overall) and Dover (7-12 overall) are tied for the Division II lead at 6-7. The two teams were scheduled to face off  Thursday, but that game was rained out and rescheduled for 4:15 p.m. Monday. The winner of that game will win the division and earn a league playoff berth.

The softball semifinals are set for 5 p.m. Tuesday at Susquehannock and New Oxford. The title game is scheduled for 5 p.m. Wednesday at New Oxford.

Central has won the last two league playoff titles and four of the last five.

Track and field: The York-Adams League Track and Field Championships are set for Friday at Dallastown High School.

Weather permitting, action gets started at 4 p.m. and is scheduled to conclude around 10 p.m.

There is an increasing chance of showers on Friday as the evening progresses
