PREP: Dallastown sews up outright boys' tennis title


The Dallastown boys' tennis team swept Spring Grove, 5-0, on Wednesday to sew up another outright York-Adams Division I championship.

Tyler Lilie, Nicholas Istvanic and Logan Maddox swept the singles matches, while Vincent Villano/Jack Lynam and Luca Fimmano/Evan Robinson won in doubles.  All of the Wildcats' wins came in straight sets.


Dallastown finished 8-0 in the division and improved to 13-0 overall.

Dallastown has now won at least a share of 14 D-I championships since 1996.


Red Lion 5, New Oxford 0: At New Oxford, the Lions received singles victories from Alec Shue, Riley Krout and Cameron Wheeler. Luc Nadeau and Alex Schor combined to win the No. 1 doubles match, while Kyle Palmieri and Luke Zeidman combined to win the No. 2 doubles match.

York Suburban 5, West York 0: At Suburban, the Trojans received singles victories from Tyr Abenschoen, Dan Lee and Liam Waterbury. Tom Platts and Shobhit Khurana won the No. 1 doubles match, while Drew Thompson and Robbie Bell combined to win the No. 2 doubles match.

Littlestown 4, Susquehannock 1: At Littlestown, Colton Mumley and Xander Holloway won at No. 2 doubles for the Warriors' only point.

South Western 5, Central York 0: At Hanover, Gavin Kenny, Vince Guy and Wyatt Laudicina each earned singles points for the Mustangs.


York Catholic 9, Lancaster Country Day 7: At York Catholic, the Fighting Irish outscored LCD, 5-3, in the second half to grab the non-league win. Sarah Mazzur had six goals and one assist to lead York Catholic, while Amanda Tufano netted the other three goals. Goalie Kirsten Lake made six saves for the Fighting Irish.


Berks Catholic 3, Eastern York 0: At Reading, the Golden Knights fell, 25-22, 25-12, 26-24. Greg Houck (28 assists, five digs, four kills), Ben Leaman (19 digs, nine kills), Koury Green (14 digs, four kills) and Tim Leaman (10 digs) led Eastern. Berks Catholic won the JV match, 2-1.
