Brandyn Schuchart led Spring Grove to a 7-4 non-league baseball triumph over visiting Waynesboro on Thursday.
Schuchart started the game on the mound and threw five innings, striking out three, walking five and allowing no earned runs to pick up the win. At the plate, he had a hit, scored one run and drove in one run.
Also for Spring Grove, Logan Miller had a hit and two RBIs, while Derek Hoiles doubled with one RBI and one run scored.
Kennard-Dale 6, York Tech 4: At Spry, Garrett Lowe led the Rams by going 2 for 3, including two doubles, with one run and one RBI. Also for K-D, Mike Lizzi went 2 for 4 with one RBI, while Carson Fish and Ben Lowe each doubled. For the Spartans, Luke Greisler went 2 for 3 with one run scored.
Donegal 7, Eastern York 0: At Wrightsville, Donegal’s pitching staff posted a 12-strikeout performance while limiting their hosts to two hits. Emmit Silar had a double for Eastern.
Central York 10, Manheim Township 1: At Manheim Township, Courtney Coppersmith led the Panthers to the road victory by going 4 for 4 at the plate, including a homer and a double, to go with five RBIs and two runs scored. She also threw a complete game on the mound, striking out 10 and walking none. Teammate Briannah Dobson went 3 for 4, including two doubles and two RBI's.
York Suburban 10, Biglerville 4: At Suburban, Alexis Jury, Sarah Hartinger and Emily Myers each had three hits to lead Suburban, while Hartinger and Myers each drove in two runs. Hartinger also collected the win, tossing a complete game.
Elizabethtown 12, Dallastown 2 (6 innings): At Elizabethtown, the Wildcats did all their damage in the opening inning, but couldn’t muster anymore offense, while Elizabethtown continued to pile it on. Elena Rosas had Dallastown’s only extra-base hit, a double, and also drove in the team’s only two runs.
York Suburban 3, Palmyra 0: At Palmyra, Jack Shultz recorded 10 kills, 10 digs, eight blocks and three aces as the Trojans swept their hosts, 25-22, 29-27, 25-23. Zach Weinstein added 10 assists, seven digs, three kills, a pair of blocks and a pair of aces. Nick Bowman registered 16 digs defensively for the Trojans.
Dallastown 5, Dover 0: At Dover, even without top singles player Holden Koons, the Wildcats still took care of the Eagles, dropping only four games. Nick Istvonic, Luke Maddox and Hunter Jones all won in singles for Dallastown, while the teams of Sebastian May/Tamer El-Maghrabi and Jack Lynam/Luca Fimmano won the two doubles points.
York Suburban 5, York Country Day 0: At Suburban, the Trojans had little trouble in sweeping the Greyhounds in the non-league match. Tyr Abenschoen, Drew Thompson and Liam Waterbury each won in singles for Suburban, while the teams of Shobhit Khurana/Tom Platts and Robbie Bell/Jordan Ohl won both double points for the Trojans.
Susquehannock 4, Hanover 1: At Hanover, Brendan Paules collected a 6-3, 6-0 victory at No. 1 singles and the Warriors would cruise the rest of the way. Justin Barnes was Hanover’s lone winner at No. 3 singles.
York Tech 95, Littlestown 51: At Littlestown, Evan Schlosser picked up a pair of individual wins and was part of a victorious relay team while helping lead the Spartans to victory. Schlosser won the 1,600 and 3,200 races and was also a part of the 3,200 relay squad.
Littlestown 71, York Tech 70: At Littlestown, Kristin Langrill was instrumental in the Thunderbolts edging the Spartans. Langrill was victorious in the 100 and 200 before helping the 400 and 1,600 relay teams win. Katie MacDougal was a standout for the Spartans, winning the 800, 1,600 and 3,200 races while also leading the 3,200 relay team to victory.
