PREP: Delone advances to district girls' tennis semis


Delone Catholic has advanced to the District 3 Class 2-A girls' tennis semifinals.

The Squirettes advanced on Monday with a 3-2 triumph vs. Kutztown at the Hershey Racquet Club.


Delone, the York-Adams Division II champion, received victories from Alyssa Neudecker at No. 1 singles and Ellie Neudecker at No. 2 singles, while Bridget Kilkelly and Maria Waminal captured the No. 1 doubles match.

The Squirettes will face Lancaster Catholic on Wednesday at 3:15 p.m. back at Hershey Racquet Club.



Spring Grove 3, Hanover 0: At Spring Grove, the Rockets won, 25-13, 25-19, 25-17. Josie Attig led the Rockets with 24 assists, nine digs and four aces. Also for Spring Grove, Faith Shaffer had five kills and 21 digs, Kaylyn Zeigler had seven kills, six digs and three aces and Lexi Yingling had 29 digs. For Hanover, Alexa Merrell had eight kills, while Maria Drawbaugh had four kills and 10 digs. Spring Grove won the JV match, 2-0.

Eastern York 3, McCaskey 0: At Wrightsville, the Golden Knights won, 25-15, 25-16, 25-11. Kierstin Grove led the home team with seven kills. Also for Eastern, Madi Anslow had three kills and six blocks, Brianna Wells had eight kills and three digs, while Natalie Grim had 12 digs. Eastern won the JV match, 2-1.

York Catholic 3, Lititz Christian 0: At York Catholic, Abby Pilkey had nine kills, Megan Daugherty recorded 17 assists and McKenna Walker had 21 digs as the Irish won 25-18, 25-18, 25-17.

Greencastle-Antrim 3, Gettysburg 0: At Greencastle, the home team won the match, 25-21, 25-18, 25-21. Shelby Briggs led the Warriors with eight kills. Teammate Sammi Faloon had five kills and five digs. Greencastle won the JV match, 2-0.

Big Spring 3, Bermudian Springs 0: At York Springs, the Bulldogs won, 25-15, 25-12, 25-13. Jacqui Fisher led the Eagles with seven digs, while teammate Kyleigh Kutz had four kills. Bermudian won the JV match, 25-18, 25-17.


Northern York 8, Eastern York 2: At Wrightsville, the Golden Knights received one goal apiece from Tia Judy and Lauren Zimmerman, while Morgan Buckwalter and Cassidy Arnold each picked up one assist. Northern York won the JV match, 6-0.

Littlestown 6, Dover 0: At Dover, Alexis Morey led the Thunderbolts by scoring four goals. Littlestown won the JV match, 3-0.

Camp Hill 8, Hanover 0: At Camp Hill, Saige Stevens made eight stops in goal to lead the Hawkettes in the non-league loss.


Northeastern 3, Dover 1: At Manchester, Hayden Seifert scored all three Northeastern goals. Kevin Torres added an assist for the Bobcats. Zach Leto scored for Dover. Northeastern goalie Damon Faulkner and Dover goalie Nate Hamme each made four saves.
