GIRLS' SOCCER: York-Adams teams have tough night in District 3-AAA action

It was not a good night for York County girls' soccer teams.

Central York, Dallastown and Dover each suffered first-round losses in District 3-AAA action.

At Hershey, No. 13 seed Central suffered a 3-1 loss to the home team, which came in seeded No. 4. The Panthers trailed 2-1 at the half and were unable to recover. Bre Sgrignoli scored the lone goal for the Panthers, while Lynnae Swanson added an assist and Olivia Johnson made 12 stops in goal. Central finished at 15-7-0. Hershey moved to 18-3-0.

At Birdsboro, No. 11 seed Dallastown dropped a 3-2 setback to home-standing Daniel Boone. The Wildcats trailed 3-0 at the half and made a valiant comeback attempt, but came up just short. Carsyn Gold and Mason Pinkerton each scored one goal for the Wildcats, while Mia Rexroth added one assist. Dallastown finished at 14-5-2. Sixth-seeded Daniel Boone improved to 14-2-2.

At Mechanicsburg, No. 17 seed Dover suffered a 5-0 loss to No. 1 seed and unbeaten Cumberland Valley. The Eagles finished at 14-4-3, while CV is now 20-0-0. No other details were available.
